I have business lunches practically every weekday. People sometimes tell me I'm always dressed up.
I'm a mostly wear 32 size waist chinos and dockers, sometimes I'm a 30 waist, but not usually.
Shirt sizes seem to vary more by brand because I have a lot of S and M size shirts, and they all fit great.

My mom and sisters have bought me for the last 5 years the same thing for my birthday, Christmas, and anytime they feel like it: SHIRTS.
But I never wear the shirts, they ALWAYS buy me XL size shirts. I keep telling them I'm an M. But they keep buying XL sizes.
They buy me Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein, Polo all the brands I wear. But I keep telling them I'm an M. I tell them everytime before my birthday or Christmas, I'M AN "M"!!

They are too big for me, I just don't wear them. I have my closet full of them, some with the tag still on. They are taking up too much space.

Should I just throw them away?

If you can't use them there are certainly many charities that would love to sell them.

Goodwill etc.

There's enough garbage already in the landfill and plenty of people who could probably use them.

I'm a size XL :).

What in the world is the matter with you? Its probably too late to take them back, although if you still have the tags, you might be able to exchange them for your size. Even if all they give you is a store credit, you can use it to buy a few things in the correct size.

I'm surprised that a business man as you claim to be wouldn't be aware that you can make a charitable donation and take it off your taxes.

Tell your mother an sisters to stop buying you clothing. Tell them to give you gift cards at the places you like to shop, or simply make a donation in your name to a charity. If they insist on giving you clothing that doesn't fit, simply tell them before the holidays to make sure there is a gift receipt in the package to make it easier to return. When your mother asks why you are returning them, tell her that even though you have told her repeatedly that you are a M and not an XL, she doesn't seem to be paying attention and you will need to take them back for the correct size.

Don't you dare throw perfectly good shirts in the trash, donate them to someone who needs them.

No. Donate them to an agency where they can be used by men who need them. Then, whenever your sisters or mother give you shirts that are the wrong size, give them back and tell them that you appreciate the thought, but that the size is wrong. Ask them to exchange the shirts, for the correct size. If you do this a few times, they will get the message.

Ask for the recipt so you can exchange them next time. As for the ones you have now, give them to goodwill or sell them at a garage sale. Tell your mom and sister that you had to give the shirts away because they are too big and that they shouldn't waist their money if they are just going to buy you big shirts that don't fit.

Ebay it! Why through them away if you can make a little money off of them? Or, if that seems like too much of a hassle, take them to someplace like Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. I think people who are struggling would feel great having some of the name brand shirts

Give them back to them as soon as they bring them the wrong size. Are even better ask them will they get a gift receipt when they purchase something for you. And then you can take them back and exchange them. And don't throw them away. Give them to some one that can use them. Maybe a mens shelter.

As soon as you get them take them to the store where they were purchased (if you don't know which store take them to the one where you shop). Most stores will exchange them for another the right size or store credit. The ones in your closet can be donated to a thrift store or homeless shelter.

There is a reason they are doing this.

1. Your clothes are too tight and they are trying to get you to wear larger sizes.

2. OR they are hoping you will give the clothes to them.

(Don't throw away, give away.)

If they still have the tags, take them to a consignment shop or sell them on ebay.

and tell your mother and sister to bring receipts from now on, because you are taking clothing back to the store that is the wrong size. then do it.

In the future, ask where they were purchased so you can exchange for size you can wear. As far as your accumulated stash, you can always donate to charity.
