My cat just recently has started coming into my room everyday at 9:00 AM exactly. when he does that he screams at the top of his lungs and slaps at the mirror. most of the time i ignore him when he does that but then he starts to run around and clawing the floor. basically making as much noice as possible. when i kick him out of the room after that he will sit by the door digging at it and meowing loudly for about 20 mins. he is a deaf cat and nothing affects him. is there anything i can do to get him to stop doing this. he always has plently of food and water and my boyfriend normally stays up till 7 in the morning so i know he ain;t lonely.

some cats are just more loving than others. They need the interaction with their owners. Normally people say cats are stuck up and want to be left alone, but my cat follows me around like a little puppy dog and is constantly under my feet. When I sit down she crawls into my lap, when I lay down she curls up beside me. She is defiantly not independent and needs attention and affection.

Since he's deaf, sound won't mean a thing to him. Ours went deaf sometime last year (no reason why, his ears still look fine according to the vet) and I noticed that touch makes a big difference now. Whereas in the past I'd talk to him now he can't hear it so he wants touch.

Pick yours up and bring him to bed with you and make a fuss petting him. That could be all he's after. Physical contact (gentle contact!) would mean a lot towards stopping new behavior. He wants something, he just isn't getting the right result from you yet.

he is trying to get you attention, something is bothering him and the only way he can tell you is by doing that.

CONSTANTLY MAKING NOISE OR MEOWING

Some cats, of course, are definitely "talkers" and are very vocal all the time! However, if your cat has been checked out by your vet and there are no medical problems, and he is really trying to get your attention with his constant meowing, it's time to start paying close attention and try to figure out what it is your cat is trying to tell you! He is possibly hungry; possibly lonely; his litter box is possibly not clean enough for his liking; there may be changes in your home or personal routine that are upsetting to him. Remember - your cat has feelings too, and you should try to look at things from HIS point of view - not yours.

take him to the vet to get him checked for anything serious. if there is nothing, make sure that you are giving him enough attention during the day. sometimes cats will go crazy for attention. my cat used to get really really mad when i went to school. she would follow me and claw me until i left, then when i got back, it was the same. it stopped though during the summer when i was with her all the time. make sure that you or your boyfriend are spending enough time with the cat. if this isn't the problem, then make sure that your cat always has enough food and water and a clean litter box. amazingly, if a cat has a dirty litter box, it can drive them crazy. another story: my cat's litter box was really nasty cause we had been on vacation and when we got back. she kept following us and attacking our legs. we finally checked and it was really gross. as soon as we changed it though, she calmed down and returned to her peaceful self. how old is your cat? has this ever happened before? I'm sure that your vet will give you enough information to figure out why this is happening.

He is doing this to get attention from you- and it's working. Do you give him special attention sometime during the day? If not, he may be craving some, and even negative attention will work, if he can't get positive attention. Running around and clawing the floor is his way of playing and acting crazy. One of my cats does this. His eyes get big and black and he hunches his back and goes nuts running around with his back twitching. He's just feeling frisky. He sounds totally normal. Just be sure he gets some attention from you at other times, and he may stop acting out to get it.

I'd take him to the vet to see - it could be something that is really bothering the cat.

I bet he wants you to feed him. Which would be the worst mistake. Feed him before bed.
