Zucchini is a vegetable, and a member of the squash family - a mild-flavored one. It is similar to a cucumber in looks and color. It also has seeds inside similar to a cucumber, but does not taste like one. Its taste is difficult to describe, but it is good raw in salads or salsas, and cooked and offered either as a side dish or in combination with other ingredients for a casserole or one-dish meal or in sauces. Hope this helped.
