It is Cervical Cancer -

Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers that affect a woman's reproductive organs. Various strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection, play a role in causing most cases of cervical cancer.

When exposed to HPV, a woman's immune system typically prevents the virus from doing harm. In a small group of women, however, the virus survives for years before it eventually converts some cells on the surface of the cervix into cancer cells. Half of cervical cancer cases occur in women between ages 35 and 55.-

When she is telling that she had a shot means, she must have had a Gardasil Vaccine, which is given for Cervical cancer.-
A new vaccine called Gardasil offers protection from the most dangerous types of HPV — the virus that causes most cervical cancers. The national Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends routine vaccination for girls ages 11 and 12, as well as girls and women ages 13 to 26 if they haven't received the vaccine already. The vaccine is most effective if given to girls before they become sexually active.-

She meant cervical cancer.
She possibly meant that she received the HPV vaccine shot.

* The cervix is located just below the uterus.
* Women who have had a large number of sexual partners are more likely to develop cervical cancer.
* Even if you have not had many sexual partners, if your male sex partner has had many previous partners, your risk for cervical cancer could be higher due to the increased risk of having contracted HPV.
* There is now a vaccine for HPV. I recommend all young girls to get this vaccine.

Do some research and arm yourself with knowledge. :-)

I think she probably meant cervical cancer and spelled it more phonetically because I have never heard of surrvical cancer. I even typed it in online and it said that there are no results for it. Anyway, I think she meant cancer of the "Cervix".

She probably meant cervical cancer, surrvical cancer does not exist. It's also very probable because that is something you can get a shot for.

70% of cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus. The virus causes abnormal cell growth in the cervix. HPV is sexually transmitted. Some new studies are now beginning to suggest direct skin contact may transmit the virus as well from one person to another. There is an injection that is suppose to help prevent the virus from developing in women. But, if they already have the virus, it's too late.

Cancer in the cervix, if not treated it can make you infertile or kill you. Yeah, I'm pretty sure she meant cervical cancer. And she probably got Gardasil, the HPV immunity shot. Here's the website for it......

You got it right the first time! It is Cervical cancer and she was probably referring to the new shot for the Papiloma Virus
(not sure of spelling) but it is referred to as the PPV shot!

Cervical cancer you mean? First of all the cervix is the term used to refer to the neck of a woman's uterus. It has lots of etiologies, one of them is the engaging in sexual activity at an early age. No such thing as a surrvical CA.
