a couple days ago i went to get the mail and there was a mail from the sherrif department. The piece of mail belongs to my brothers girlfriend. i can see through the mail and it shows she has two violations plus a bail payment at $7,000 or risk immediate arrest. (something like that) I am totally shocked taht she would ever do anything...? Well my question is, dont you have to be in jail to post bail??? If she doesnt pay the bail would she go to jail? Also, i am a little bothered by it can i also go to the sherrif department and find out what she did? Only cos she is living with me. and also, can i tell them where she is now (like she is now in my living room eating my food)??? I mean really i would love to see her to go to jail...She needs to learn her lessons on whatever she did...

She will be arrested. The $7000, is her bond, which will probably be reduced to $700, or 10%.

It sounds like someone didn't pay their ticket... goes to warrant... if she pays the bail before the police catches her and runs her name on their computer, she can avoid going to jail. She can even go to court, request to see the judge, and if she has a good enough reason for not taking care of her violation, the judge may lower the bail if she's lucky.

Arrest will be made if there is no reply. After the arrest, the prosecutor will determine if there is probable cause to charge an offense. If an criminal charge is filed, the bail will be determined according to the amount involved in the case and if the evidence presented to support the charge is strong.

Someone may have paid to have her bailed out of jail once
she was arrested, and didn't show up for trial.
Just hand her the mail and don't say anything. It is against the
law to read someone elses mail. Once she reads it. I am sure
she will split. and it won't be your problem.
But you must be aware that the federal government, in the
interest of our national security. Is "monitoring websites."
There just may be someone ready to knock "on" your door, or
knock "in" your door. One may even be at home looking at
this message. <|:-})-{*

First thing - don't judge her. She lives in you and is close to your family, I think you have a right to know what's going on, but you need more information before drawing drastic conclusions, and an explenation from her. I think you should phone and try to find out more, it's probably less drama than you think. Maybe she needs help in one form or another.

Bail is only set when you are already being held. It does not make to much sense to set a bail when your already out. It may have been a fine from a past conviction that she did not pay. That they can lock her up for if she skips out on the fine.

Stop reading other peoples mail. Unless she invited you to, it is against the law ! The United States Postal Service is really picky about that. Let her handle her own business. If she needs your help, or advice, she will ask for it.

well if the letter came to you mail box, then the police/ courts know where she is.
So much for your plan to get ride of her.
But if she don't get the letter and respond, then they would come to get her. so that would work.
