My better question would be how do I boil them so that then I shell them, they are perfect? Not meaning the medium or well done of them, but how to shell them where there is no imperfections on the outside.

Place eggs in cold water with a half TSP of salt. Bring to a boil. When the water begins to boil set your timer for 12 minutes. Every minute stir the eggs with a spoon (Centers the yolks). Then at minute number 8, take a fork and crack the egg shell while its still boiling. After 12 minutes set pan in sink and wait 3 minutes. Then fill pan with cold water and let it run several minutes. Walla, eggs with centered yolks totaly cooked.

I've only used this method with one egg so you might have to adjust the cooking time.
Bring the pan of water(with the egg and enough water to cover the egg) to a rolling boil, then turn the fire (or heat) off and let the egg sit in the pan of hot water for 10 minutes. This should produce a perfect boiled egg without the dark line around the yoke.

Rule of 10s.
Fill the bottom of the pan with eggs. Cover with cold water.
Bring to a boil, and boil for 10 minutes. (Start timing from when the water starts boiling.)
Turn off the heat, cover, and let sit for an additional 10 minutes.
Put into ice water to stop the cooking.
This will give you perfect eggs every time, without the nasty green sulfur ring that comes from overcooking.
Good luck!

I put the eggs in a pot of water then bring them up to boil on the stove. As soon as they start boiling, I turn off the stove and let the eggs sit in the hot covered pot for about 5-10 minutes.

the trick is to not boil the eggs, but rather place then in a non-reactive pot/pan, and gently simmer them for about 20 minutes. This way prevents the yolks from having a greenish hue and the yolks will be perfectly centered, every time.

do not put the eggs in to the boiling water, put them in the cold water, wait for it to boil and start timing your eggs from there, this lets the eggs heat with the water, so its not like a sudden shock of boiling water. hope this helps!
