I feel guilty when I've done anything that is contrary to my moral code. I've thought a lot about what my moral code entails, so I can manage to avoid most of the things that I believe are wrong. I also feel guilty sometimes if I hurt someone's feelings, even if I've done it with the truth, or if I cannot be of assistance in an important situation. I most often feel guilty when I find myself expressing frustration or anger in inappropriate or offensive ways (mostly yelling or swearing).

When I hurt someone's feelings, I feel guilty... or when I yell at my son because I'm frustrated.
I once had an atheist tell me he never apologizes to people for anything because if he did, it would mean he feels guilt which he refuses to do because it's a Christian concept. I was appalled... if you feel guilt, it means you have a conscience and that perhaps you've done something wrong.
It made me ashamed to be an atheist.

I never feel guilty for any of my actions, instead of ever beating around the bush I'll tell a person straight out if they stink or if they have bad rotten breath or if there fat and to get off there fat butt and exercise . Rather than pussyfooting around them, people ask me don't I ever feel guilty telling any person to there face the truth. No I never do, because next time I've see them there were wearing deodorant or brushed there teeth or lost a few pounds.
I suppose I have felt bad when seeing someone I personally known who had it together and has totally fallen off the rails hanging out for a heroine hit to beat it. Telling them I don't want to listen to there junkie BS rambling anymore to borrow money off me. Knowing they were far beyond any help I can offer them.

lol...why do people think that if you don't believe in god or an afterlife that you have no morals or codes to live by! Or if you don't believe in god it's easy to kill puppy dogs!
I feel guilty when I do the things that I was taught as a child, by my parents, not to do. My parents laid down the law and because I respected them, I accepted those laws. And because I was raised by loving parents, I feel compassion for others and therefore am capable of feeling guilt.

Nowadays, just thinking something un-nice makes me feel uncomfortable.
It makes me uncomfortable when I hear fundies use the 'hate' word so casually - in fact I've never seen the word used as much as I have here in R&S.
The worst is when they accuse atheists of hating xians or Jesus or their invisible guy in the sky.
I pity fundies and don't believe in the existence of the other two - how do you hate something that doesn't exist?
Sorry for digressing.

Anything that I might do that causes harm to others or to the planet. My guilt is propotional to my level of premeditation and foreknowledge. We all make mistakes and must forgive ourselves for that. However, we ought not to do harm at least not intentionally and we must learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. I'm not really an atheist but many of my friends are and I think that most of them feel the same way I do.

I feel guilty if I've hurt someone, be in inadvertently or through some definite action of my own. I feel guilty when I catch myself being overly critical of someone else. I also feel guilty if I can't help someone that I know needs it.

Well anything that is worthy of feeling guilty about. Though I tend to avoid things that lead to guilt. So usually it was just something by accident that I feel bad about.

If we consider ourselves Christians, Jesus only left us with two suggestions for dealing with Atheists.
First He ask us not to judge them.
Secondly He ask us to love our neighbor.
Atheists are our neighbors.
End of discussion.
Love and blessings Don
