First things first to the people who thinks India is a military power "they arent". The last time the two went to war it was pretty much a tie dont expect that to change the US and Russia have both been very carefull to make sure there is a blance of power. The Indians for the most part have a larger airforce and always will have. The pakistani's while smaller put more focus on training and tactis which will even things out. So to answer your question convetionally it would be another very bloody "Tie"...

Excluding the nukes is a big exclusion.
It would be bloody and meaningless. I think that no significant territory would change hands and the rest of the world would quickly intervene.
Since the nukes can't be excluded, the answer would be the cockroaches since nothing else would be left alive.

Greetings. in war the victory usually goes to the bigger army with the cheapest troops. India has the 3rd largest military in the world. only ones larger are Communist China and formerly the Soviet Union. now the #2 spot is America, but our military is no longer actually large enough for that position. We have a expensive military and not a large one. India has a large one. Actually if the United States and India were to go to war with each other and the U.S. did not have the biggest stock pile of nuclear weapons in the world, or the biggest stock pile of biological and chemical weapons, then India would have a very good chance of defeating the U.S. especially if the U.S. continues in its campaign to disarm the civilians. India is a strangely unrecognized major military power.
