That's no longer true! The Catholic Church changed all that. Baptism is all just a symbol. So no unbaptized babies will go to Hell or Limbo. Limbo is the place that is between Heaven and Hell. The Church removed Limbo in the 1990's. So no more Limbo. It's up or down now.

some people baptize there babies because they bieve that if the baby dies then the child will go to Heaven. But in truth the only way to get to heaven is by accepting Jesus christ as your Lord and Savior. Baptizing a child is more formality then any thing else. Because we also know that ther is an age of accountability. what that age is I don't know. When Jesus died it wasn't to get rid of sin it was so we could live and be forgiven.

They don't in many denominations of Christianity. In the ones they do have to be baptized in it is because they claim that every human is born with original sin. Meaning that we are all born with the sin that eve and Adam created by going against God's will and eating from the tree. In some they believe that a child is innocent up until an age when they are able to know and understand the difference between right and wrong.

first of all there are two issues here that I think need to be addressed- and the most important one is not that babies should get baptized- the most important one is the fact that Jesus DID die for the sins of the world- however not all will be saved- because all will not choose to be. He died to save us from our sin, He did not die, and all sin disappeared there is a difference. About babies NEEDING to be baptized- this is not true- if an infant or young baby dies before they reach the age of accountability- God will take them directly to heaven, out of his love and mercy- not because a parent had him/her baptized. Biblical baptism is done after you have accepted Christ as Savior and you want to follow in obedience. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation.

They don't have to be baptized, only children at about 7 years of age or so (and up) can be baptized, it's a form of faith to say that your old life of sin is now dead and buried (going down into the water) and arising out of the water symbolizes your new born again resurrected life in Christ, but only at the age of 7 so as they know what they are doing. Babies do not know what they are doing, Parents baptize but at age 7 the child should get baptized again this time telling the youngster this information because first the youngster has to receive Jesus into his/her heart..

Jesus Christ died in order to forgive all the sins of mankind; past, present, and future. But yet it only takes place when a person places their faith in what Jesus did for them; believing that He died on the cross of Calvary for them individually. Every person must be washed in the blood which Jesus shed, and do so by faith. But you must understand that baptism has nothing to do with us receiving forgiveness of our sins. It is only a representation of what He has done for us. Going down into the water represents that we are buried with Christ, and coming back up represents that we are risen with Christ, to live a new life. Many people have their babies baptized, because they feel that it is required by God. But this is not the case at all. It has nothing whatsoever to do with them being forgiven of sin. And God does not hold a child accountable for sin, until they become old enough to realize the difference in right and wrong. God is a most merciful God. Every person should be baptized once they accept Jesus as their personal Savior. But it by no means gives us salvation, but only represents it.

I believe the thinking is this. When Jesus died on the cross, he didn't get rid of sins; he took on the consequences of all sins for which people accepted forgiveness. But that gift has to be accepted. Babies are baptized to show that they are accepting the gift of forgiveness (actually their parents are doing on their behalf, since they haven't the understanding to do it on their own.) Thus if they die before reaching the age of confirmation, they are saved from the consequences of original sin.
But if you're not Catholic, you have a different belief.
Also - to "I'm on a Diet" - you can't take communion right after baptism. Again it's lack of understanding. First communion happens later, after the child learns all the correct answers to religious questions, and understands the symbolism of the ritual. The the child confirms the promise made in baptism, on their own behalf this time, and can take communion for the first time.

Not all Christians believe in baptizing babies. The protestants believe in dedication cermonies when the baby is born to show the parents will raise the child in a christian home. Then when the child is old enough and want to be baptized they can be. Baptism is a sign of leaving behind your old sinful life and entering a new christian life.

Jesus did die for our sins. (mario m, youre stupid) He died on the cross, and rose from the dead on the third day. 100% true. if you dont believe that, youre insane. the baptism of babies is wrong. they shouldnt be baptized. they cant tell either they want to be baptized, or not. when the person grows up, then he should get baptized.

Jesus died that we might be forgiven for our sins if we believe. Not just because and not for anyone, only those that believe and repent or turn away from their sins. It is our opportunity to ask to be forgiven and become one with Him. I personally don't believe in baptizing babies.I believe they are without sin. I believe that we become responsible for our own actions at about age 14. Earlier for some, later for others. Once you become aware and know right from wrong, understand that you have to choose every time you do something, whether it will be right or wrong, then you are responsible for the sin in your own life. I believe in a personal relationship with God. Each of us have the ability to talk to Him, ask of Him and become one with Him as we go about our lives. We have free will and can change our minds at any time to do right or to do wrong. So, giving free will makes us responsible for our own destiny. No one else is responsible...we are. So, the idea that Jesus died for all our sins is not really correct. He died that we can choose to sin or not sin and to be with Him in heaven or not. He gave us the choice. So the question doesn't make sense to me as I believe. Children are innocent and God does not judge them...they are His. It is adults that corrupt and change children. He died as a sacrifice so that we might be saved if we believe in His being born of a virgin, dieing on the cross and raised from the dead...that is the only requirement for us to be believers. Just that. It really is easy. It's the other things that are hard, living by the ten commandments...not that is hard. Jealousy, Gluttony...there are a lot of things covered there. Right? Good luck in your quest for spiritual growth. I pray it comes to you simply and easily...not complicated. because it really isn't.

They don't require baptism. Baptism is only for those who know the commandments, who have broken them (which becomes sin) and have need of thier sins to be washed away by baptism. Baptism means to dip, or be submerged. This was so important that Jesus himself had to be Baptized, as an adult, in order to fulfill all righteousness. As soon as He arose out of the water it was THEN that the Holy Ghost descended upon him in the form of a dove, and the voice of the Father from heaven proclaimed "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear ye him". It was not until after this that Jesus began his ministry.
In the Old Testament they offered sacrifices for those who sinned ignorantly. Jesus offered himself up as the last and perfect sacrifice, which surely would also cover those who are innocent such as infants, or adults in true ignorance. After all how many infants have died without baptism? Would they have gone to hell because they were not baptized? To me this would be a solemn mockery to the grace and justice of God, and those who believe such a way would be in danger of hell themselves.
