Does anyone know if BluRay players also play HDDVDs???

There is one or two models by LG (Lucky Goldstar) that will play both formats. The current models do play the movies, but do not support all the features of a dedicated HD or BluRay machine. I think Samsung might have a dual player in the works.

But in general - no. A BluRay player wont play HD-DVD's.

But both players seem to work well with standard DVD's.

No, Bluray is going to lose the formatt war, because of PS3 doing really bad in US.

No! two different formats.

Nowadays, there are players that can play both though.
