3 yrs old., biological father, she always pushes him away, won't show affection towards him. doesn't want him around when she's with me. is she just being a huge 'mama's girl'?? she's only 3, and i can't ask her what's her problem. she squirms and wiggles away when he hugs her. she wasn't like this until recently.

Because he's a guy! Guys never understand anything! You should give more detail. Maybe she had a bad experience with a guy and is taking it out on her dad

I would chat with her privately and ask what the deal is. Tell her that her answer won't be held against her in any way, but that you really need to know the truth...whatever it may be.

It may be just some anti-man kick she's on (we guys just don't understand, right?). It may be that she's down on Dad for some misunderstanding. It may be something more serious between the two of them (yes, I mean that...I'm sorry, but it happens...and her being especially hateful is new, so you need to investigate the reason for the change).

If she has no good answer, then you need to call her on her conduct toward her dad. Disrespect should carry a punishment.

There are several plateaus of hormonal surges in the teens. When the kids go to bed, they really can't get any sleep because of all the hormonal stuff... that is why they want to sleep all the time.
Sometimes they decide to pick on someone to blame their troubles on.
Just pull her to one side and tell her to get herself under control or be grounded for the rest of her life... you will brook no disrespect. If she pulls any of this disrespect again, take something (a prized object or privilege) from her for a while.
Removing internet access for a week might do it.

it's just a phase, it'll pass

let dad start beig the one to give her treats and stuff, read to her, etc
Mom needs tell little girl that isn't nice and won't be tolerated. Put her in time out and walk away for 5-10 minutes after sweet explanation.

Did you ask her what her malfunction is?

Ask yourself these questions:
Is my daughter a angry person?
What makes her mad?

Way would your daughter be upset with her dad; Something had to happen to trigger this emotion.

Please investigate the situation it could be larger then it appers to be or it could be smaller.

This question should be asked to your daughter not to yahoo.

how old is your daughter?

and is your husband "her dad" the biological father?

Good question. It could be anything from her diaper being full to her resenting him for not supporting her second marriage.

I just work with what you give me, I hope it helps.

I hate my dad too. Not everyone wants to be a daddys girl.

Maybe they need to spend more time togather. She might feel that he doesn't care about her.
