I don't think it is. What makes you think it is a bad influnce. If you think it is then what do you think is good?

It's not the Bible that is the bad influence. It is men and religions who misinterpret it, and make up their own rules and say it is from the Bible.

I would doubt that many Christians in this forum would actually know much about their Faerie Tale Book...
They only know the basics and how to annoy people with their endless cutting and pasting of scripture 6 miles long...
They would not know how many times it has been edited by Kings and scribes, that most of it was written in the 4th century AD..
They would not know how the Church came to power after the death of Constantine in the 4th century, before that Christianity was still a very minor cult..
I think that religion itself is very dangerous and The Bible is probably the root or more evil than good...
I have studied the rise of Christianity, and it is a very corrupt and blood-thirsty venture...
If I was a Christian I would hang my head in shame and keep my misguided faith a secret...

Edit:- Michelle G is pissed off because Pagans celebrate Christmas.. You know what pisses me off !? The absolute arrogance and ignorance of your ilk....
For starters Christmas was a Pagan festival stolen by the Christians just like they did with Easter...
Every Christian festival celebrated has a Pagan root, which was adopted by the Christians, and now you people claim everything as your own...
Do some research, you just might become better people for it, and have some respect for the Pagan community, who were here first and will still be here when all the false religions of this planet are ancient history...
Blessings... )O(

I do.

I feel it is a bad influence because it promotes ignorance, hatefulness, insensitivity, and many other negative ideas or emotions. You cannot take the bible literally as word for word truth, because it isn't. Because of this, anyone can twist the wording to suit their own agenda.

You ask, "If you think it is then what do you think is good?" I hope you are not inferring, that without the bible, we humans cannot be a loving and moral society. God is not the basis of morality. If that were true, prisons wouldn't be filled with a majority of religious prisoners and priest wouldn't molest children. Humans are social animals and cooperation among members of our race, ensured that we survived. Strength in numbers, so to speak. Morals are nothing more than a byproduct of evolution. The bottom line is that normal human beings don't need a book or anything else to keep us in line. It comes to us naturally.

Why do I think it's a bad influence? It may be the way that people are stoned and killed for miner infractions.

Deuteronomy 21: 18-21

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father and mother, who does not heed them when they discipline him, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his town at the gate of that place. They shall say to the elders of his town, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the town shall stone him to death. So you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel will hear, and be afraid.
