You can get overtime, or time due, past your regular duty hours. Going to court, and holiday pay.

You can get overtime or compensatory time. The rules are a little different for police departments than for regular employers. Many agencies take advantage of the federal rules setting the "maximum hours" for law enforcement at 171 hours over a four week period (as opposed to the 40 hours per week that applies to civilians). I think it is just 1.5 times rather than 2.0 times though.

It totally depends on the labor contract. I know some that pay time and a half for over 40 in a week and go to double time for over 60.

Most agencies are the same........... and here it is:

Overtime pay, Off Duty Court Pay and other Call In Pay is at time and one half your salary.

Holiday pay is the only thing paid at double time.

Police departments are covered by their own policies... But, Federal Law mandates time and a half for over time.

I love Holiday pay the most.... its the only time the really pay me what I feel my time is worth! LOL!
