Apple Pie trees would be an improvement. However, It would take some intellegence to come up with the design.

The apple tree has evolved - into a ball tree. My dog thinks tennis balls grow on them, but these ones are a tasty snack too.

It is the "pie crust tree" problem. That part was left up to the Creationists. They are still bantering about whether to use lard or vegetable oil. Real picky bunch.

That wouldn't be a survival adaptation, and would help them to be eaten. Also, trees don't bake themselves, and the tree would have no way to reproduce.
