He can join, however, there are stipulations. He needs to talk to a recruiter and he should really think about it before he joins. Just to keep from getting deported is not a good reason to join. It is a contract and a full time commitment. He has to be willing to devote 4 years of his life to the Army if he plans to do this. I would not advise this if he's just dodging immigration. If he wants to join them help him how you can. Get him to a recruiter. He will need a waiver since he's not a U.S. citizen but he can join.

Have your friend contact the nearest U S Army recruiting office and they will inform him of all the requirements. Look in the yellow pages for the address and phone number of the recruiting office. It is possible but not for sure.

If he's in the country legally, he does not have to be a citizen to join the Armed Forces. There are restrictions on what jobs he can do though.

If he wants to become a citizen, joining the ARmed Forces is a fast track way of doing it.

It could be possible but he needs to go into the nearest recruitment centre to check it out then if he has no crim;record and doesn't want to join simply to avoid going home he may well find they accept him. Could be different in USA.

he is a legal permanent citizen? if so what is the problem ( unless he has a record)

they are highly recruiting arabic/farsi/persian/etc speaking persons and giving large bonuses....

use yolur phone book and look up military recruiter......

However... if youa re saying he will have to leave soon, chances are he is NOT qualified to join the service....

I'm taking it that your friend's visa is running out (do I read "boyfriend" here?), so he's seeking to extend his stay.

Depending on the type of visa he has, he may or may not be able to join the military service. If he does, after boot camp he could be deployed back to the Middle East anyways.

Most likely, if he's on temporary visa, they won't allow him to join to get a green card - sorry.

Absolutely. Many immigrants have helped earn their citizenship by serving. And now, with his language skills, could be a great time. He should be prepared for a GREAT deal of scrutiny, and some negative prejudice, though. He will be dealing with adolescents learning to be men.

yes. of course it is possible. is he here in the states now.
he will have to be vetted. the process may be prohibitive.
but the U.S. Army would be thrilled to have someone who speaks arabic and knows the culture.
Go walk into a recruiters office tomorrow.

I think there is paper work he would have to fill out, tell him to contact a recruting office. If he isnt a citizen he can still join the armed forces. but a recruiter could help out more.

Well whatwhat i would probably do is tell the army dude to use your friends as a secret wepon. when the Arabs see him they might think that your friend is on their team. Then when they are off guard with him, your friend SHOTS THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, don't actually do this plan plz I was just joking.
