Every gift of the Holy Spirit is manifest within the Catholic Church. Not everybody has each gift but all the gifts are present within the body as a whole

If you actually believed the Bible alone you would believe in the oral Traditions too as Paul says

as what I think most here would consider a fundi (I’m not too hip to the term’s meaning as used here) I know of quite a few Catholics who speak in tongs why would it not be from the holy spirit. As long as they are saved they have the Holy Spirit and therefore access to His gifts

If the oral traditions are backed up by what scriptures say then i would be obedient, until this happens and i am able to discern the matter i cannot place equal value towards tradition as the Word of God,
There are born again believers in the Catholic church who have been blessed to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Thankyou Holy Spirit.
There are born again believers who are not Catholic but who are "catholic" in every denomination.
There are and have always been in the "CHURCH" In the BODY......
make believers
and true believers
the wheat and the chaff,
by the way, i was once Catholic but am now part of a small inclusive nondenominational church, where there are many wounded spirits from Every denomination, and they have come to a place of healing and life and not religion or ritual or traditions of men. Thankyou Lord.
i have been married for 33yrs. to a Catholic man, Thankyou Lord
His Word is the Bread of Life, He became for us the Manna that fell from Heaven.
Thankyou Jesus, Blessed be your Holy name
your mercy endures forever.

midge no matter how hard you try it seems your efforts always seem to fall on deaf ears, whether you say it in english or in tongues......but keep it up, we all need to show the one true faith by both words and actions, hopefully your efforts prevail and may god bless you. the groups you mention hold their authority from the bible even though the bible is against this notion itself but hopefully they will come to see the light, lets take hope and courage in such conversions as those of people like scott hahn and rasalind moss etc......

for the conversion stories try here

the stories are at the bottom of the page, feel free protestants to take the test that preceedes them.

on the right are more conversion stories found under the sub title, audio.

god bless.

true tongues is a gift of God and is not confined by our denominational labels. I believe it is rare, though. If one carefully considers 1Cor. 13...I wonder why they would even be concerned. If the gift is given to some, great. but it has little effect on the church, evangelism, or the believers life...so why the fixation?

Hmmm. "The Church" --before its many apologists win your hearts over, perhaps this should be viewed to balance out the overall picture: http://www.independentamerican.org/blog.php?blog=677

P.S. Don't you people get how you are being played by the patriarcho-fascist psychopaths running ALL the "churches? The top leadership of all of them is in it for the money and the "power". The Catholic Church, well supported by the likes of the Jesuits and Opus Dei is a "crime family", at least. And the other denominations of "popular Xianity" are trying to follow suit. Get a clue, folks :))

I didn't know the Catholics spoke in tongues, I thought it was the Penecost or Jehovia witness.

The Bible, the whole Bible and nothing but the Bible must be the standard for faith and life.

The Roman Catholic Church has subverted the authority of Scripture by clinging to human traditions.

The Catholic Church says, "Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God . . ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 97)

The Bible alone is the source of doctrinal knowledge.

EDIT:
Midge, after the closure of canon, the Bible alone is the standard for faith and life.

Speaking in tongues is a euphemism for being high on pot.
