I'm with Canadaguy; I want to verbally slap you myself.
You and your poor dog are a perfect example of what happens when people get a dog just because they want one. They don't want to hear about everything it takes to have a happy, well-behaved dog. They just want what they want and to hell with being humane and responsible.
I'm glad you feel horrible IF it means you'll turn it around and do the right thing by her.
You basically have to start all over again. And you do realize, of course, that YOU are the one that has to be trained - NOT your dog.
You have to get the dining room clean of her markings, too. Get Simple Solution and scrub the room down from top to bottom. Then do it again.
She needs to be walked - really walked, not a leisurely, sniffing around walk - for at least 30 minutes a day first thing in the morning. That's so she can get proper exercise. Then you should take her out every hour in the beginning. Do that for a couple days. Then work up to every 2 hours, then every 3 to 4. Take her out means take her for a walk. Not tie her up outside. Why the heck are you doing that, by the way? Is your yard unsecured (open - no fence or wall)? If so, then I can kind of, sort of, maybe understand. But if it is secure, then....WTF?
She needs to be taken out by you. Besides emptying her bowels and bladder and all that, it's a way for you 2 to bond.
Go buy Cesar Millan's book and his dvds. Hell, submit the story of you and your poor dog to his show. Maybe they'll do a segment on you 2.
Here's the amazing thing: she'll "forgive" you for all that neglect.
Do right by your dog. Do it now.

Yes chris is right, check for medical probs first, then focus on training. It's actually not a real hard one so that's good, exercise will do wonders! I know your heart is in the right place you just need to work harder with the dog and she will respond, have faith in her. I believe that as you have a very energetic breed she will need at least 1 hour walk per day, more if possible. If you don't have the time a dog walker could help you out to drain her energy. Use your walk time with her efficiently, by that I mean make her focus and walk WITH you not in front. Dogs need jobs, so make it a walk with purpose, then you are also using mental energy as well as physical, very tiring! Also you are establishing yourself as pack leader, taking control and ensuring she is listening and behaving which is a challenge. I find putting a back pack on them switches their brain to work mode, it's amazing. No long leashes, all they do is sniff wildly, drag you around, run at other dogs, just crazy, you have no control that way and the walk is pretty much useless. As for the mess in the house, get her outside straight after meals or when she wakes up. When she goes use lots of praise and then she can come back in. Look for signs she's about to go like sniffing around or circling, whisk her out to catch it in time! I really think more exercises and challenges is what she's asking you for. Dogs love a challenge so make her work for more and you will see improvements, you have an extremely intelligent dog so make
the most of it you are lucky to have her she sounds beautiful! So get out there and enjoy her good luck!

Ok hun you do need help. I'm glad your ommiting that you didn't do what you needed but don't live in the past just work hard now. Ok no matter how nice your house is a dog still see's it as a kennel. Think of it this way, how would YOU feel is you NEVER got to leave your house? IT would suck right? dogs need a challenge. Going around the house and yard IS NOT EXERCISE! (not yelling its just you need to really know the facts okay) They need multiple walks(as many as you can) As long as you can is great but ppl have contradicting schedules...but 45 min will do wonders.
Your dog is doing this b/c it's bored. When you walk your dog it challenges the brain and will drain that extra energy(that is why your dog is hyper) so when you leave your dog alone it will probably sleep. Make sure it gets AT LEAST one walk a day but more are better. I'm glad your trying to be responsible( so KUDOS!)
Another suggestion is to Watch Cesar Millan his show is called The Dog Wisperer and its on the National Geographic channel. It will give you such insight on proper training and how to walk your dog and how to give your dog corrections w/out being curel. He is SO AMAZING! he has helped me a lot and I think it will help you to understand what a dog needs as a dog. You have to fullfil them too! BEST WISHES I HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR FURRY FRIEND!

Crate train her. I own 5 dogs...4 poodles and a border collie. Dogs are pack/den animals. When you are not with her and she is in the house, she should be in a crate. In their wild state, dogs live in dens. They will NOT soil their den. Domesticated dogs still retain that same instinct. They will quickly learn that their crate is a place of comfort and safety. They will keep that area clean. An older dog already has a large enough bladder that they can easily hold it for 8-10 hours. Access to food and water should only be give outside of the crate. As soon as you take her out of the crate, direct ther to the area that you want her to releave herself. Give her lots of calm praise when she goes. She will learn that the only acceptable place to "potty" is outside. While in the house, do not let her out of your sight unless she is crated. And...by the way... dogs love dens. It is NOT cruel as long as you are reasonable about how long you leave them in their crate. I KNOW this works.
Also... Dogs need to walk. Left to their own devices outside does not count. Dogs in the wild have to hunt to eat. Hunting is work. Dogs, by nature want to "earn" their meal... Work for it. An organized walk (head up, paying attention to you, no sniffing around or stopping) is the work. After they work, they get to eat. Walk your dog at least a half hour every day. She'll be much happier and you'll feel much less guilty. There is no quick fix. Watch "The Dog Whisperer"... He's brilliant!

human beings such as you are the reason such multiple harmless animals are euthanized on a on a daily basis foundation. what in the journey that your mothers and dads theory you have been too lots artwork when you consider which you does stay wide awake all night, have been complicated to potty practice and you have been hyper and constantly into issues like maximum young babies (basically like i'm particular this canines became basically being a canines) and that they desperate to offer you away? strengthen up and stop putting your standard jobs on others. animals deserve extra ideal than you. get a puppy rock further information: so which you're 13 - lots previous to renowned the thank you to shelter a canines what does the breed of the canines matter? it became a canines your mom could have had her reasons for giving it away and because you want suggestion on the thank you to talk her into getting you yet another one, i'm guessing her reasons in contact your irresponsibility. in case you have been so sturdy at coaching the different kinfolk canines, and a few of those themes have been the canines's fault, then there truly should not be a project huh? thank you very lots

Potty training a dog is not about taking it outside, it is about teaching it that inside is not the place to go & outside is. You can have a dog & leave it ouside from birth, bring it in at 10 years old & it will mess on the floors. The dog never learned where & where not to go (just becuz it was outside). So you must break it just as if it was a puppy. Your neglect is bad but can be reversed cuz you can teach old dogs new tricks.

Take her EVERY day 3 times. Go outside with her for at LEAST 10 minutes. Yes, your dog will stop peeing and pooping everywhere once you take her to use the bathroom! Dogs have to go too, they can only wait for a certain amount of time, like us. Dogs are very alike to humans. They get headaches, tummy aches, they brake their legs. The only difference is that, they can't tell us "Ow, i hurt my leg, can you take me to a vet" Or," i need to go to the restroom!! Can you take me?" Treat them as if you would treat yourslef.

She is hyper because she is a combo of two energetic breeds that has been left physically and mentally unstimulated!!!!!!!!!!!
Why if you have a fenced in yard do you tie the dog out. What makes you think you are going to start taking good care of the dog now???
Start walking two times a day for 45 min and maybe check out an obedience class to get you both back on track. Look into some activities that the dog might like. Agility, tracking.....there are a lot of them out there!!!
Get her a good vet check, including fecal and heartworm test too. Make sure vaccines are up to date.
She digs and jumps because she is BORED OUT OF HER MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think your problem lies in the fact that you don't walk her. (Although you really should start taking daily walks with her.)
I think the problem is that you didn't properly take her outside to go potty. You can't just tie a dog out, leave them there for 15 mins and let them in. You need to STAY outside with her to make sure she is going potty. Then when she does go outside give her lots of praise! Sounds like she needs a major refresher course in potty training! And when she is in the house, until you have gotten her to stop going inside, watch her every second. Don't let her have access to the entire house. You need to keep your eyes on her and if you see signs she has to go take her out immediately. Or if she goes to pee or poop, tell her NO firmly and take her out. Stay out there until she has gone for you.
I really don't think walking her has anything to do with it. Yes she needs walks, but she should still go potty outside even when you don't get a chance to walk her. I walk my 3 Eskies all the time in the summer. But when winter sets in and it gets really really cold, I don't walk them everyday. They don't have accidents in the house because walking them everyday stopped for a bit.

#1 You should walk her 2-3 times a-day: Morning, Noon, and some times night.
#2 If she goes out it doesn't have to be long
#3 When she poops or pees outside give her a treat and do this for a while then slowly stop
#4 When she poops or pees inside DON'T scare her or yell to much, just strictly tell he 'NO!' and take her out for 1 min.
#5 Take her out to parks or have a doggy play date!
