Yes I have gotten inside others heads & my mentor has been in mine. There is something to be said for being completely know by at least one person. At first it was frightening, the natural tendency is to hide. But after a while it was very comforting. Empaths that can do this would not have the ability if they were capable of abusing it. When I realized what was going on I was young & did not understand what was happening, but my Mentor guided me in "getting a handle" on it. Most people don't sense it, others sense something but don't know what it is, & yet still others , usually other very empathic people will see it right away. There really is no door per say, we are all really just one thing. The entrance is within you, you go to that place of unity inside where the illusion of separation does not apply. It feels like you, that is why for young empaths that have no one to tell them what is happening, they at first think all this emotional turmoil is them. At first it will manifest on the feeling level only, at least usually. For me after I got a handle on not hanging on to all those feelings, I began to get words, sort of, or maybe it is more like thoughts. Those are easier, you get info about someones secrets, & many times I have gotten info to help someone. I had to learn that just because I knew did not give me the right to tell them. If I am supposed to pass something on, it will usually keep reoccurring till I do.There once was woman I attended a few meetings with that I kept getting the message that she needed a bone scan, she had osteoporosis. I waited & actually just forgot to tell her, the thought got to the point that I called her & finally set up a meeting. She trusted me, which does not always happen, she had the test & she was only 38 but it was a bad case. It does not make you a thief or a liar, it is actually something all can do. We are all one mind, the belief that there are private thoughts or emotions is the lie/illusion. So empaths are not special, just more in touch with the reality of who we are. For the other side, when my mentor was in my head, I always felt it, but it was not like trading places. In that place there is no separation or places to trade. As far as people trying to keep you out, they put up blocks on the wrong side of themselves. They try to block from the outside, a empath enters from the inside. One thing I did learn is everyone has the right to lie, I have not right to call any one on their little white lies unless directed to. Also, it is not something that you think about doing then deliberately do, it just happens, but you can learn to refine it. Darn, I think I wrote a novel. Thanks for the Q. & allowing me to share.

Yes, and it was very scary, and I left the scene as soon as possible.

Accidentally, and that won't happen again.

Yes, it is possible.

Not necessarily desirable.

Not very practical in the logical sense that we all need secrets.

I dunno really...

I can be, if that person has any ability at all.

Yes there is a back door or even a front door if you have not shielded yourself properly. And it is very rude, and it is very disturbing.

A thief most definitely, unless they have no idea they are doing it.

Of course take off your shoes and clean your feet.

Oh, just answered that one...

Sometimes it can be even more revealing...when they tend to lie to themselves.

If I have to...

Sure, why not?

Maybe not trading places but sipping tea in a common area...

Lolol...no, but there have been some seriously heavy duty shields thrown up.

I let it go...for awhile....

If they don't want company then you are intruding...breaking and entering is an offense.

What difference would that make?

oh what a fragile deed!
and yet it can cause so much damage.

one should never enter uninvited, and yet we know the psychic vampires do so at will. and until we have learnt the rules of protection, we are often helpless to their ways until too late.

when it is invited and mutual, the vibrations are many and beautiful!
yet even then the other mind may have a game plan

the ice is thin, take wary steps my friends, this is not a game but your mind, beautiful, precious, fragile, and multi-layered

swap head for heart?
the same applies :)

I am an empath so I can be inside someones heart sensing their emotions but I refrain from entering their heads of others unless I have to be. My soul mate is inside mine all the time as I am in his. I have had to be inside my children at certain times during their younger years. My goal there was to protect them from harm and to guide them. There is a risk to this. You could lose yourself in them and not everyone will let you go back to yourself. Some like the feeling of having another so close and will hang on. We basically yurn to have a soul mate. The bliss it brings on can be addicting and some will not let it go. A true soul mate doesn't have to hang on....they are already a part of you.

There needs to be a very, very good reason for this intrusion. Ya don't just do it because ya don't have anything better to do. I don't believe this is possible. I don't want it happening to me, so I wouldn't want to do it to another. People belong in their own houses, not busy bodying around and haunting and probing and staulking another. Visitation is for physical bodies, and not for spirits, unless, like I said, it is for a very good cause or reason.

Communing of souls, is a different matter all together.

wow,....i have found that when i am having a problem with someone, it's like allowing them to live in my head rent free!
I believe that we should not enter uninvited, and that we should always be on guard against psychic vampires. Some will drain you and they do not even know that they are doing it.
This holds true for anyone with addictions of any kind...

sorry i dont have more to offer.....great question with many things to contemplate on...

Now there's an interesting idea for a book!
Much too constricting to try to give answers in the confines of Y!A.
Just one thing, (and I'm going to shout, a most unusual occurrence), DON'T GO IN UNINVITED!

Great question, my friend, and one about which I may indeed write at an appropriate length.
