For about 2 months I have been getting cramps in the lower left and right parts of my abdomen, and sometimes just random crampy pains all over the stomach. I'm having a unltrasound and barrium in a week but was wondering what I could expect they might find.
Here are some of my symptoms:
* The stomach cramps ( on left and right but more frequent on right)
* I can feel the pain in my lower back in cramp from too
* Sometimes get an extremely sharp pain so bad I am doubled up ( this only happens on the lower left side)
* Pain sometimes in upper right abdomen
* occasional blood in stool
* loose stools
* Mucous in stool
* Always really tired
* Hips and thigh area are sore/joint pain
* my eyes are sore lol
Sometimes the pain goes away completely and I can't feel it for hours and then other times its there almost constantly but in cramp form.
Does anyone know what these symptoms mean??
Thanks xx
*I am seeing a gastroenterologist*
*I am 14 year old female*

Could be many things. Irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, bacterial infection (like C-diff), viral infection, fungal infection, food allergies or intolerances, or many other possibilities. Because it's gone on for 2+ months, I would probably rule out viral stuff. I have ulcerative colitis and your symptoms sound a lot like mine. It all will depend on what the tests say though. I was diagnosed with it when I was 20.
If it is UC, Chron's, or IBS, e-mail me and I would be glad to share my experiences with you. By the way, you're way too young to have colon cancer, so you can rule that out too.

Although I am no doctor I have researched those symptoms in depth because my mother was having the same problems and it got to the point where there was enough blood to make her think something really terrible is happening... In any case I found out that the softer most frequent vowel movements have to deal not only with what you eat and drink, but also with your emotional routine and life schedule as well as hormonal changes that we women always go through. I think that in order for you to really narrow it down you need to start keeping a journal of what you eat, when you eat, how much or little are you resting and how stable is your emotional health. I know you're schedule is very fast phase, but unless you want to take the time to go to the doctor and have him or her run a variety ox exams and diagnose you this is the best way to narrow down the cause of your problems. So here it goes: 1. Take note of your daily fiber intake 2. If you are taking vitamins and/or prescribed medication try to investigate the possible side effects. 3. Keep count of the amount of water you drink 4. Also keep record of your cycle to try to determine whether or not that can be a cause. Also check for possible food allergies (especially lactose intolerance which can cause the softer stools). And check for hemorrhoids which are ruptures in the rectum and small intestine that can cause you to bleed. Or maybe even a vein could be ruptured or it could be one of the many symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS If after you take all of these steps you are still experiencing the same problems, then I will advise you to have your doctor refer you to a gastroenterologist and have him perform a Colonoscopy and an Endoscopy to rule out the possibilities of any life threatening illnesses. I hope this helps......and by the way, My Mom just had both the Colonoscopy and Endoscopy done like two days ago and it was determined that she just has a bad case of Hemorrhoids along with Gastritis and intolerance to Lactose. Good luck and I hope you get better soon

Ask him to look into Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
IBD is most likely to occur in people in their late teens and twenties. However, kids as young as 5 years old have been known to develop IBD. It affects both guys and girls.
BD (which is not the same thing as irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS), can cause more serious problems than just diarrhea and pain. IBD may also cause a delay in puberty or growth problems for some teens with the condition, because it can interfere with a person getting nutrients from the foods he or she eats.
The two major types of IBD are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

HA HA HA. Sorry to laugh, but a lot of your symptoms are right in line with mine. I went from possibly IBS to possibly MS. I would be curious as to what you find out. I am no medical expert, but my initial thoughts, from researching my own symptoms were: IBS (which is a diagnosis of exclusion), kidneys, bowel obstruction, etc. I would really like to know what you find out, as I have had similiar symptoms. I have had some differences, have not had a diagnosis or any real treatment or relief, and I basically just live with it.

It sounds like you have an infection and I see they are on the ball so just relax and go with the flow and if you hear something you are unsure of I would get a second doc opinion.
Good Luck

Yea I was going to say what your doc said. You have to do what he says by the way and faithfully for relief. remember that, cause I have diabetes and other also have conditions to deal with and you do get better but only thing is that you have to change your attitude and live the healthy way the doc says for your body!

You could be having severe diahreaa.
By the way, girls your age shouldn't be pregnant.
It would've happened if you hadn't been so eager to get together with that creep who got you pregnant.
