Boil some water and put your head over the steam and slowly breathe in through your nose.

That depends upon why your nose is stuffed.

Flushing it with saline might work (you can use a blue nasal aspirator bulb or a syringe) -- you mix 1/8 t salt with 8 oz water -- then tilt your head forward 45 degrees and turn a little sideways -- open your mouth, and gently squire the water up your nose -- it'll help clear out whatever's up there.

You could also try NasalCrom -- which is cromonlyn sodium -- a Mast Cell regulator -- it helps with allergies.

Afrin or similar nasal sprays constrict the blood vessels, but I wouldn't use them for more than a few days -- if you do, it can make your nose worse

How To Unstuff Your Nose

2016-09-29 12:20:28 · answer #3 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

theres a few different things you can do..
if you have any nasal decongestant pills, you could take them
such things would be something like Sudafed, or Claritian-D, pretty much anything with PSE or Phenyepherine in it.
if you dont like to use drugs.. you could go for a more natural rememdy
you could use an isotonic saline nasal rinse/spray..
you can get this at any drug store.. or simply mix some warm water and table salt up in a bottle and squirt it up your nose.
if you dont like squirting things up your nose, try some vicks vapor rub on your top lip. that will open you up.
or sip some herbal tea.

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL! You need to be careful on what you are using to help your nose. I have this same problem and have dealt with it for several years. You need to talk to your doctor and get a good medicine for your allergies. I recommend zyrtec, or allegra. BUT FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF!!! You need to go to a stop and shop or walmart and ask the pharmacy departement for Simply Saline. TRUST ME. I have tried every spray in the book. This works the best. What this natural spray can does is jet a gentle stream of hydrating and loosening fluid in your cavities and soften everything up. Tilt your head and insert it in each of your nostrils and spray. This will make you want to sneeze. Make sure you are over the sink. You want to put a good amount up there. When using this, do not try to blow too hard. Just blow gentle or else you will tear your nose up from blowing. Do not worry about Simply Saline. This contains no harmful chemicals. Stay away from buying those over the counter allergy and congestion relief sprays. These have chemicals that will dry your nose out and damage cell membranes. If you aren't able to get to the store, then try to drink tea, lay a warm cloth over your face, and have some kleenex near by. Also, for our condition, you need to get Puffs tissues. These are better. Because when you keep blowing your nose it will start to scrape and feel raw, so you want Puffs tissues to soothe blowing. But, you need to find out what is causing your nose to be stuffed. If you just have a cold, forget what I said about the doctor and allergies. But all these things will bring relief to your nose.

Hope you get better! contact me with how it worked out.

If your planning to go to the store or something, go to your supermarket in the medicine section, and buy one of those VICKS INHALERS. All you have to do is close one nostril, put the inhaler a little in your nostril, and inhale. It actually works! I have one. Or use VICKS VAPORUB overnight. On your nose, chest, throat. Away from eyes. Or inhale some hot steam which can liquefy your mucus. Hope you get better!

Blow your nose as much as you can then heat some water up and breathe deeply for several minutes or until you feel it has cleared. You should consider buying a humidifier.
