Theres an interesting point,no I don't find all of the bible to be hateful, some of it has some good moral backing, and as a philosophy it works.

Ah... I disagree a lot and with everyone that said it is a bad influence because it has nothing bad.If the bible is bad then what is good. I know a lot of kids that read the bible and go to church and learn from it and nothing is bad about it and they don't think so either. They find some things weird and surprising but not a bad thing that they are influenced by. I can't believe this and people who said it is and you for asking this question. I got a lot more to say but I don't feel like writing it but no I don't think it is a bad influence.

Are video games that show violence, filthy language, poor behavior and greed a bad influence?
What about the daily news? Is that a bad influence? Childrens' minds are innocent until they are twisted by the world in which they are brought into.
The Bible shows what humanity is like. While there are stories that discuss difficult topics such as violence, death, bigotry, hate and judging, there are also stories about kindness and love, charity, humanity and service towards your fellowman, eternal life, hope, and salvation. Do these sound like things that would be a bad influence on a child?
Please don't blame the Bible. The blame belongs on the people that misinterpret its pages and give it an interpretation that it was never meant to have.

What’s interesting here is that while you can easily make the claim that Marilyn Manson is a bad influence, it’s not for any of the reason you have listed on here. More disturbing is how flawed your facts are. You should really do your homework before preaching nonsense. 1. Manson doesn’t curse God at all. He merely doesn’t accept him, which is within his right. 2. He doesn’t encourage kids one way or the other. If nothing else, he would encourage you to think for yourself, a novel concept. 3. He should be banned because he has a differing opinion than you? People are allowed to have differing opinions in America; you should try it some time. 4. Exactly who did MM brainwash? Nobody. Attempted to kill reporters? Don’t think so. You could say he’s a bad influence for his drug use, repulsive treatment of the opposite sex and lack of loyalty to band mates. But this Holy Roller crapola isn’t going to fly.

The bible is not a bad influence on kids today. If you ask me kids can be negatively influencd by just about anything in this world from cartoons like south park, family guy, even scooby doo, to music and seeing people doing things in public like two gays kissing etc. The bible said that you should Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (prov. 22.6). David was actually meaning that you should teach you child about God. Which better way to teach about God than from the bible. Don't get me wrong I do agree that the bible have some graphic or explicit things in it like murders and so forth but, there's a positive outcome to each of them also. Like for example, Jesus was killed, crucified to be exact, but look at the outcome, everyone can inherit eternal life, or John the Baptist being beheaded, he understood that he'd rather be absent from the body because he'll be present with the lord. So in essence, I would consider the bible graphic but not a bad influennce. God Bless

I'm not going to say the Bible is bad, nor religion...But the Bible does seem to bring alot of controversy. Even though I am a believer in Christ. I think that it should depend on the parents/ familys situation. Some believe, some dont. I think they way people can misunderstand the Bible and Christianity. Infact I dont believe that you should judge us just because we have that title. Not ALL of us believe that the bible is always right, and we're not all mind-freaked robots...There are different types of Christianity (of course)...I don't think the bible is a bad influence on the children of the future...it's teh context people make out of it thats giving this reputation...

The bible is not a bad influence on kids. The bible is split into two sections. The old testiment, prior before Jesus roamed the earth and the New testiment when Jesus was roaming the earth. Anyway practicing the old testiment is not what the bible is all about. It is like reading just part of a book, you do not get the entire message. For example an eye for an eye and tooth for tooth. That is from the old testiment, but what about loving, caring and being their for your fellow man that is what Jesus was talking about in the new testiment. According to the bible God gave his only begotten son for whoever beliveth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16. I hope this helped.

I was a kid once and 71 years of age now, it has not been a bad influence on me, the people now can be as bad as they were from the beginning despite the fact that at year 2513 Moses began to give the laws of the land and the laws of God to the law enforcers and those enforcers are now in year 6073, and everywhere and having the same difficulties as always. It is not easy to protect kids from their environment. The bible as we grow up explains all this and God is agains all this bad stuff, evil exist from the beginning, but no one has got to participate in it.
God did not wipe us out.
There will come a time when the evil will be no more.

People who misinterpret what the Bible say and teach it to children, or anyone for that matter, are a bad influence. When the Bible is studied seriously for what it truly is and not twisted to fit whatever each man wants it to be, then it is not bad. But it must be studied without bias.
Just to bring up another point, the Bible is a kind of history book. Is teaching history to children child abuse?

Ummm....No!
The occurrences in the bible are true stories, and all of them in the end show the power of God and are used to represent different walks in life.
Now the shows that kids watch on TV! those are violent, but God-forbid anyone question the influence of those on the children of today and tomorrow.
Maybe you should check the influence of the secular world and ask IS that child abuse, before questioning the Word of God, and the Power of God!
You let your kids watch these fictions shows that have more violence and innuendos than anything and then have the audacity to question Historical occurrences, and the influence of good morals.

lets just go off the fact you probably don't believe so lets just put some good points out there what in the bible is bad it tells you to do nothing that would be harmful only trying to make you a better person not very many TV programs are doing that books the same way the world is infatuated with sin so sin sells but the bible is wholly pure nothing perverse except for maybe that you have to build a relationship with someone who loves you more than you love yourself someone who was willing to dye so that you could live where could you find that in today's world so is the bible bad no way it only teaches you to be good or changes you to want have a desire to be good thinking of more than just yourself there is more out there than just you thumbs up on the bible
