What natural concoction can I make to rid ear of (an ear infection?) If this is what she has, I want to be able to keep her from shaking her head and flopping/itching her ears. I ask for a natural way to cure it like Apple Vinegar which I found helps which I found through Google. What else can help?

I love my dog very much and I only want what's best for her. Somebody's a little too sensitive...anyway, I wanted natural remedies because I don't like using chemicals on myself, much less, my dog. Natural remedies are easier on the body and something as sensitive as her ear. Besides! I want her to be able to listen to me :)

Please take her to the vet. Your vet can prescribe something that isn't harsh but will help clear up the problem.
Anytime a dog has something wrong with it's ears or eyes, you HAVE to take the dog to the vet. Please don't try something you find on the Net. Your dog is in pain and her hearing could be jeopardized.

The hunting breed dogs with the floppy ears are very prone to these infections and can also get yeast infection in the ear and a combination of things . the ears need air also. when the ears are down like that they can hold alot of moisure in which keeps these germs going. the vet can determine if it is yeast or the combination or ear mites with it also. he can than give you the correct medication which has to be given very faithfully in order to get rid of it and do not miss doses. the ear can be massaged at the bottom when you get the meds in. it may burn so hang tight to the dog and have a towel handy because the dog will want to shake it out thats why the massaging is important to make sure it goes down into the ear. the vet may want you to clean the ears with q tips before putting in the meds . make sure you watch how its done so you dont injure the ear drum. never be afraid to speak up and ask your vet questions. thats why we pay them. for answers. some poodle dogs have a tendancy for these infections also.if there is some way you can tie the ears up with a soft cloth for even an hour a day to get a little air in that would help. do not use clothespins and shut the circulation off or hair dryers must be natural air

If you really want to use natural remedies for your dog then find a homeopathic vet in your area and work with them. Ear infections are painful for dogs and while you may not think so any infection can lead to death.
Don't mess around with this get your dog to a vet as soon as you can. If you can't find a homeopathic vet in your area then you may be able to find a vet who uses some natural remedies. You will need antibiotics to clear up this infection but you may be able to find a natural product that you can use regularly to help keep your dogs ears clean.
You will probbaly find that you will have to use a cleaner, an in ear topical treatment, and oral antibiotics - the sooner you get it started the quicker your dog will be back to normal - and the less chance you will have a deaf dog.

I'm not sure you will be able to find a natural cure for an ear infection. Cleaning with water and vinegar is a way to clean the ears...but not to treat an infection. I think your dog really needs the vet to take a look at your dogs ears and treat them with either an oral antibiotic and/or antibiotic ear drops.

You do need to take her to the vet. You need to find out what bacteria is infecting the ear, so that you can use the proper antibiotic. I think what you should do, is go to the vet, get the ears treated properly, get them all cleared up and back into shape. THEN use natural products to keep them clean and bacteria free in the future. Will save your dog's hearing and will stop the suffering.

Your dog needs antibiotics from the vet because she has a bad ear infection. There is no home remedy for this and if left untreated she could become deaf.. Take your dog to the vet.
You only ask for a natural way because you do not want to spend the money to take her to the vet- you obviously do not need a pet.

going to the vet.
They can see what type of infection it is, usually puss in a sign of a bacterial infection. If that is the case your dog need antibiotics. Otherwise a vet can do a PROPER ear flush with a safe antiseptic rinse for ears. Also using a PH balanced dog ear cleaner is important.

Don't mess around with an ear infection. While you are trying to cure it naturally, she could very well lose her hearing. It happened to me, so please don't chance it. I had a bad ear infection as a kid that my mom couldn't afford to care for and half my hearing is gone in my right ear.
Antibiotics are cheap. Just treat it the right way.
Added: I am by no means attacking your desire to use natural methods, it's just that hearing is something you shouldn't take the chance on. It isn't worth her hearing being damaged, and it if is already producing puss, it is to the point where her hearing may already be compromised.

I applaud your desire to use natural remedies, but being that you can't identify the infection, you should see the vet. If it is bacterial, then you need antibiotics. If you want to keep your dog's system hollistically balanced, you should feed her plain yogurt to keep good bacteria.
