I lost a lot of weight a while back, and I had more folds than you can imagine.

I started getting rashes, but not the abscesses you describe.

You have to keep yourself impeccably clean and dry. The "clean" part is just soap and water, but the "dry" part can get complex.

You can use talcum powder, the obvious. I decided to get a little creative, and actually used antiperspirant in those places. It isn't any more sensitive than your underarm, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Wear cotton underwear. It absorbs moisture, and it is comfortable. Get the kind that has cotton bands around the legs.

Since my problem was rashes instead of abscesses, I decided to try something my doctor never heard of, which was antifungal spray. The spray they use for athlete's foot is the same as the spray they use for jock itch. I would buy whatever was cheaper. Names like Tinactin, Lotrimin, and Micatin in your drug store. Some of these have powders in them. If you get red raw spots, these sprays will clear it up. My doctor was impressed.

Since you are dealing with abscesses, you might want to try a topical antiseptic. Tea tree oil will kill germs, and is safe on your skin.

I hope this helps.
