Several of my uncles and cousins who used to stutter (same thing as stammer) got the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" from The Stuttering Foundation of America and worked through it step by step.

There is a medication, Pagoclone, being studied and you can sign up for Phase III trials here: http://www.indevus.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=53&Itemid=58

I have a stammer myself and have found The McGuire Programme a great help; (www.mcguireprogramme.com) I do not exaggerate when I say it changed my life.

It is a worldwide organization, has unlimited follow up support and there are courses in North America. I myself am from Ireland.

I used to also. I found that when I slowed waaayyy down and thought out my words, I was able to get them all out but whenrever I got excited, the stammer would come back again. So just slow down and think about each word; don't worry about talking too slowly, once you conquer the stammer you can pick up speed again down the road.
