A friend of mine had a very small (500 square foot) 1BR apartment. When you walked in, the small kitchen was to the left, the living room going out to a balcony overlooking the beach was straight ahead, and a hallway with a bedroom and bathroom were to the right.

One whole wall of the living room was mirrored. He placed his sofa there with the TV on the opposite wall. It made the place look nearly twice the actual size and didn't look tacky at all.

Ahhhh I'd skip the ceiling in all but the bedrooms and put them on the wall opposite of the windows. None in the kitchen unless you like to clean them. Put one on the door of the bathroom and mount a tv above the toilet so you can watch tv while........
Of course one on the back of the bedroom door. the one on the ceiling in the bedroom must be mounted extremely secure.

It depends how you use them. Mirrors make a room look bigger.
