Just look at the stats... I would say 99% of the homeless are alcoholics... You never feel good about what you said or how you acted the next day... You gain weight and look like a fat freak... Your face gets puffy and you feel less attractive... The body puffiness makes you feel uncomfortable so you end up having a bad attitude towards everything... You drive and risk your life, someone else's life and your future... It corrodes your major organs... If you smoke it makes you smoke ten times more and therefore dulls the whiteness of your teeth... Increases the bags under your eyes... Changes your thoughts from happy to sad, so you are not the same person and over time it really changes you even more drastically... All of the examples greatly affect your relationships with the opposite sex, family and friends... Changes your confidence levels so you probably are making less money and spending more just to create a fake happiness.............. Yah, I would say it's a cancer on our society, especially if you have an addictive personality... Which I believe is learned... Good Luck quitting, but you have to make new friends, exchange your negative habits for positive ones like working out... It is tough, I am 36 and going through the same thought process... Unfortunately, it has become a crutch...

Well, I have a little problem. When I take a drink I want another and another and another and the next thing I know I am waking up after being passed out for 10 hours and I have to figure out what I did before passing out because I have no memory of it. Thats why I haven't had a drink in over 15 years, as long as I don't have the first one I am fine.

I quit for and year a 7 months. i started up again about 5 months ago. It was great knowing that I had the control to stop. I am now a way more responsible drinker. Being sober for so long around drunk people really makes you think twice.

Yes I have done it many times in the past, however it is very easy to do when you are hung over. Now I want to quit drinking all together because it is a lot of empty calories, but it is mothers little helper, I would rather have extra calories than a nervous breakdown

I swore it off about 40 years ago.
But it wasn't because of a hangover, or because I had done something embarrassing. That kind of swearing off normally doesn't last. I swore it off because I realized that I had inherited some real problems with it, and the loss of not drinking was less to me than the hassle of constantly struggling to control and moderate my intake.

I wish my dad would have. Alcohol has messed his life up. He lost his family, his house, his reputation, and he acts differently now. More people are addicted to alcohol than any other drug, unless you count caffeine. What is the purpose of drinking? I'll never know.

Yeah, I've thought about it... it always tends to make me sick, for some reason. My stomach is always upset for several days (sometimes even a week) after I drink as little as two and a half beers (only it's "b*tch beer" like Smirnoff, I can't stand real beer) so I am trying to stop it entirely.

I did just that about 30 years ago by the grace of God. It took a miracle and the Lord provided it when I was born again.
(cigarettes too)
