I couldn't kill the three baby mice I found in my laundry basket last week. There's no way I could condone, let alone cheer for, the death of a person.

Absolutely No.
*** gt chap. 126 “Certainly This Was God’s Son” ***
Furthermore, at the moment Jesus dies, the huge curtain that divides the Holy from the Most Holy in God’s temple is rent in two, from top to bottom. Apparently this beautifully ornamented curtain is some 60 feet [18 m] high and very heavy! The astonishing miracle not only manifests God’s wrath against the killers of His Son but signifies that the way into the Most Holy, heaven itself, is now made possible by Jesus’ death.
Well, when people feel the earthquake and see the things happening, they grow very much afraid. The army officer in charge at the execution gives glory to God. “Certainly this was God’s Son,” he proclaims. Likely he had been present when the claim of divine sonship was discussed at Jesus’ trial before Pilate. And now he is convinced that Jesus is the Son of God, yes, that he is indeed the greatest man who ever lived.
Others too are overcome by these miraculous events, and they begin returning home beating their breasts as a gesture of their intense grief and shame. Observing the spectacle at a distance are many female disciples of Jesus who are deeply moved by these momentous events. The apostle John is also present. Matthew 27:45-56; Mark 15:33-41; Luke 23:44-49; 2:34, 35; John 19:25-30.

No. But I would not yell for anyone's death.
Mary's sorrow was close to the ultimate, but G and His human form in J, had the greatest sorrow. What man had done and would do in the future called for the greatest sacrifice of all.
I don't know where you were going with the calf in the mother's milk thing ... Even these days mistreatment of animals takes more and swifter punishment than the abuse of children and vulnerable adults.

I truly doubt many of the people who were in the crowd that day knew who Mary was. Most of them were likely friends or followers of the man, Barabbas, possibly called together for this specific purpose when their "messiah" was arrested and jailed to await his sentence. If, as I believe, they were Jewish "freedom fighters", then, yes, they very well could have yelled for Barabbas, even knowing who Mary was. These men would have been Zealots...men who hated Rome, and everything it stood for. Barabbas had committed insurrection, and murder in the insurrection...in other words, he had rebelled against the Roman government, and someone, probably Roman, had been killed in the rebellion. It wasn't that they didn't care for humans...it was that they cared for their country's freedom from foreign oppression. When we, in the United States, read about men who have fought and killed for our country's freedom, we consider these men to be heroes. Don't you suppose that, to a Jew, someone who fights for Israel's freedom from Roman rule would have been a hero, as well?
And don't forget, Barabbas's Mom would have been in the crowd too. What would it have been like, do you suppose, to cry out for Jesus, with this other anguished mother looking on?
WWJD?????????

No I wouldn't have been able to do that at all. It would be too sick and sadistic to cheer for anybody's death and suffering and it would have been a very cruel thing to do especially with the person's mother around. That is a no no in all cases and points.

I believe as a sinful unregenerate man that I very well could have been in that crowd.A couple of days before they wanted to make him king, now they want him crucified. That is the true human nature. Later ,they wanted to make Paul a god (Hermes) then the next minute they stoned him. That is man without Christ.

well i am an atheist so i don't kill people because they have different religious beliefs other than myself, unlike Christians and all the other religions who have fought wars and killed and murdered people because those people believed something different i.e. crusades, inquisitions, Salem witch trials etc etc....its funny (hypocritical) that religions preach love and tolerance but have such a bloody history themselves....something to think about
and furthermore, just to play devils advocate, why was it so horrible? isn't that what he supposedly came to do? he knew it, and so did those around him, so they should have been thankful that his purpose was fulfilled, they should have celebrated. it makes no sense that there was so much grief when he was right where he was supposed to be according to him and the phophecy. whats the problem?

No, I could not have called for Jesus' death. The sad thing is, they were so spiritually blind, they could not see salvation starring back at them.

You're assuming it ever happened. Since all of the stuff written about Jesus was written decades after he died, there's little we know about him, including whether he actually existed.
This story is a lame ploy to pull at people's emotions in an attempt to make them follow your religion. Most religions heavily rely on emotional manipulation, such as this. It's too bad you don't realize that "faith" is just "emotional attachment". It's understandable, though. Humans have been emotional creatures for far longer than rational ones.
Instead of investing so much emotion in the death of a guy who (maybe) lived 2000 years ago, try thinking about the people being killed in Iraq, perhaps, or the homeless who are dying a much slower and more agonizing death than the cross.
