That it has to be created by a higher intelligence, why? How do you determine that life on our tiny planet is complex? You have nothing to compare it to, we only know of one way to make life in this universe. And please don't compare humans to other creatures on this planet we are all connected and we all have limitations. So why do believers think that life is complex? And don't use the watchmaker arguement because it's doesn't work. Who made the watchmaker?

Oh yeah, the human eye is so perfect. Hogwash! We have a very limited view of visible light, there is much more in the universe our eyes can't see.

37,000 new life forms were recently found living near thermal vents on the ocean floor. I asked the theists about it and they unanimously just all thought that god was even more amazing than they had ever dreamed about.

Oh- 80% of people who lost their homes in hurricane Katrina 2 years ago claimed that the event only INCREASED their belief in god.

people are weird.

Complex when compared to what? Complexity only has meaning in comparison to something else. Like the word hot or cold only has meaning in comparison to another temperature.

The belief that some have that we and our planet are complex comes from arrogance. And the belief that we are so complex that we could have only have come from an infinitely powerful creator is another level of arrogance above that.

It is similar to the thinking that says humans could not have built the pyramids and must have had help from 'aliens'.

basically nicely-known planet with complicated life. 2000 years in the past the 'planets' have been merely stars that moved in a wierd way. whilst Galileo used a telescope for the 1st time to look at them and found out that they've been planets he had no theory that some have been gas giants and a few have been rocky. He might desire to theorize that they might have climate structures, or mountains etc. yet he might desire to no longer comprehend because of the fact he might desire to no longer see them of course sufficient with the technologies he had. right this moment we are in a position to locate medium to important planets orbiting extremely close stars. yet we are in a position to no longer likely tell plenty approximately them. we are no longer plenty greater valuable off with greater desirable-image voltaic planets than Galileo replaced into with those in our image voltaic equipment. What excuse will you're making in 20-50 years whilst our technologies can locate Earth sized planets and be sure if there is life on them? the place will you drag your objective posts to then? Insist that we'd desire to continually teach that it particularly is smart life? teach the life of alien civilizations? meanwhile each and every of the evidence helps evolution apes and guy having a difficulty-unfastened ancestor (elementary on condition that we are an ape) and that birds progressed from dinosaurs. (you comprehend, the residing species evolving from the EXTINCT species.)

It makes more sense to me to believe that life is so complex because no one prepared a thing for us. Life is complex because life is hard and this is how we've learned to live with it. It's us dealing with a crazy, created-by-chance world, not us living in a crappy world created by anything or anyone.

The less informed people are, the more complex things seem to be. I find transmissions to be rather simple devices, because I've built so many. To most people, transmissions are practically magic.

God picks up where people's knowledge falls off, and more than that, where their desire to work hard to understand complex concepts ends.

Snowflakes are 'complex' as well, yet no-one claims there is a designer assembling each one of them.

'complex' just means 'hard to grasp all the details'.

The earth has existed for 4.5 billion years. In that much time, a lot of things can happen.

well you know, i pretty much agree with you, but you won't get many honest and thoughtful responses by telling people at the outset about all the arguments that you won't listen to. makes you sound unreasonable. if you weren't looking for honest and thoughtful responses though i guess it's all good :)

All right. Then make me a flower. I like Peonies. I want a dark purple one. Not too complex for you I suppose.
