My mother is 5'6 1/2". When I was younger I would hope that I would be just like her, but my damn genetics screwed that up. lol. I ended up being a petite 5'3". I think 5'6" is tall, and many guys like that type of "modelesque" girl. Personally, I'm really happy I ended up being a comfortable 5'3" girl, though. You will almost never have to worry about being taller than your man, when your my height. Tall girls are always those supposedly sexy girls on TV, though. I rarely see a petite girl depicted as sexy, on a sitcom. I still think I'm sexy, but in the eyes of the America media, the 5'6"-ish girl, is the bombshell. Screw their standards, though. I'm my own form of sexy! lol. Ultimately, you have to love yourself, you can't change your height, and even if you could, why would you? That's incidental, and your friend should understand that. Friends, family, and guys should love you no matter what.

5'7" was considered to be tall for a woman just 10 years ago. Many women fall between 4'10" and 6'. Some are shorter and some are taller. Many of the shorter wish they were taller. Guess what? Many of those of us that are taller, wish we were shorter. I am 5'10". I feel that my feet are too big and I wish I were a size six instead of a size eight. I also wish I were 5'6" instead of where I am. But I am not and never will be. It is more important to be comfortable with who you are and not worry so much about being taller or shorter. If your friend wishes to look taller, have here wear slim outfits and shoes with a lift. these don't have to be heals. Slides, boots, sneakers and wedges all can provide extra height. Your friend can also change her hair style to appear taller. She could easily add 1 or 2 inches with the right style. We are what our parents made us. At 5'6" it is easy to add 3 or 4 inches with shoes and hair alone. Also, it isn't like anyone is going to measure your friend. She could say she was 5'7" and few would know the difference anyway. Good Luck and tell your friend that being taller doesn't equate to more happiness. Having good friends like yourself are what the "good life " is made up of.

Well, most people consider 5'7 to be the "perfect" height since it is the minimum requirement to become a model. However, 5'6 is not that far from 5'7 so its perfect! You're perfect height. Sometimes its good for women not to be so tall because tall women have a hard time finding properly length jeans, and sometimes, they may be taller than some guys! If you're 'short', you have the option of wearing heels to make yourself look taller, whereas if you think you're too tall, you can't really look any shorter.
5'6 is PERFECT

The average female is 5'5". The average male American mens height is approximately 5 foot - 10 inches tall.
Height is, like other phenotypic traits, determined by a combination of genetics and environmental factors. Genetic potential plus nutrition minus stressors is a basic formula. Genetically speaking, the heights of mother and son and of father and daughter correlate, suggesting that a short mother will more likely bear a shorter son, and tall fathers will have tall daughters.[2] Humans grow fastest (other than in the womb) as infants and toddlers (birth to roughly age 2) and then during the pubertal growth spurt. A slower steady growth velocity occurs throughout childhood between these periods; and some slow, steady, declining growth after the pubertal growth spurt levels off is common. These are also critical periods where stressors such as malnutrition (or even severe child neglect) have the greatest effect. Conversely, if conditions are optimal then growth potential is maximized; and also there is catch-up growth — which can be significant — for those experiencing poor conditions when those conditions improve. If not enough growth hormone is produced and/or secreted by the pituitary gland, then a patient with growth hormone deficiency can undergo treatment. This treatment involves the injection of pure growth hormone into thick tissue to jump-start the growth process.

I'm 5'6 and have always thought I'm too tall! I'm the youngest of all my sisters but am the tallest they are 5'1 5'3 and 5'4 I've always been the tallest out of all my friends so when I was growing up I'd never wear heels only flat shoes. I always felt like a freak because I really was taller then everyone! But now I'm not too bothered my b/f is taller then me. I still feel really tall when I stand next to my oldest sister though! I would like to be a little bit smaller but oh well not much I can do about it is there! xx

Personally I think that your height is a good height for you. I'm 5'10 1/2" so yes, I am very tall. I absolutely love being tall. It does have its drawbacks, since I'm still taller than most of the guys at my school, but its way fun because being tall gives you a feeling of power almost :P just kidding, but its really fun when you get comments about how you would make a good model :) Being short would be pretty cool too - easier to find clothes that fit right, and you can wear heels to prom and your date will still be taller than you. So really, just tell your friend to rock her height - there's awesome things about whatever you are, short, tall, or in between. Don't sweat it. It's really not that important.

I'm close to 5'4, I kno i am short but i jus deal with it. I like my height i dont think there is anything wrong w/ it. it would be nice if i was taller like 5'6 cause thats like the first thing everyone says to me is that I'm short. So she should be glad she is that tall, if you are any taller then that then when you wear heels to go out w/ a guy you gotta make sure the guy is def. taller then you so you dont scale over him too much. So I think 5'6 would be a great height for that cause you are tall but then you can create the illusion that you are still taller w/ like heels and be jus as tall as your guy almost jus a lil shorter

5'6, that's like perfect. The average height for women is like 5'4 or something crazy like that. I'm only 5'2 so to me 5'6 isn't bad. It's also not too tall and not too short. You won't always be looking up at people but you don't really have to worry about dating a guy who's shorter than you.

5'6 is an ideal height for a woman. I'm 5'6, I've sometimes wished I were taller, but now that I'm older I realize being 5'6 is just about the best height... we're not too short and not too tall. :)

its good.. but depends on the situation
I'm 5'6 but sometimes i wish i was 5'8
i like being 5'6 because im about the same height as most girls and i am shorter than most guys which is good..
but i want to be a runway model. for that i need to be at least 5'8 but im not complaining its a good height..if she wants to look taller she can wear skinny jeans with 3-4 inch heels or knee high boots.
