What are the characteristics of an intense person/personality?
People are always saying to me that I'm way too sensitive and I also have a lot of mood swings. One minute I'm happy, the next crying. I also dress pretty intensely too with tons of bright colors. Anyway, thanx peeps!

A female in my family has an "intense personality".
Any of these characteristics can become or play into the intensity.

The kind of person when you KNOW she's in the room.
Louder than others present.
Domineers the conversation.
Rather opinionated.
Somewhat controlling. Walks in and "takes over" as if she's the most important person in the room.
Openly employs her emotions to her advantage.
"In your face" when in your presence, she stands closer than most other people do.
May have a wild or silly laugh, who's singing voice stands out
Somewhat flamboyant in dress, speech, in how she moves her body, the wearing of perfume
The one who chooses/disapproves the music, restaurant, where to go, what to do
When there is an opportunity for people in a group to speak, she is the first one to speak.
A person who wants to be noticed.
A person who is there to live life to its fullest
A person who gives provocative or controversial responses
The one in the group who is there to make a fashion statement.

PS For the happy to crying from one minute to the next --
There may be some benefit to seeing your Dr. Sometimes hormones are out of balance, etc. and can be corrected.

People have told me that I have an intense personality. These comments usually stem from me having expectations of my friends that they think are hard to live up to. I am extremely loyal and won't accept anything less from someone I consider a friend. All of my friends tell me that they value my friendship because of my honesty, but that sometimes I can be too harsh - albeit always the truth. I wish my partner was more intense, but then, if both of us were intense people it probably wouldn't work. Yes, I feel intense people have a harder time being in relationships because others so often want to avoid any conflict, or deep thought/discussion (or aren't capable?) this is tough for an intense person to handle - makes others uncomfortable. But I think the most fulfilling relationships I have had have been with someone I would consider intense, or at least complicated. Please note that I think there is a HUGE difference between being intense and being dramatic. Don't like dramatic. Great question.
