Good cheap dental implants? Sorry they don't exist. Dental implants cannot be place by just anyone. It takes skill precision and knowledge to place them successfully. There is much that can go wrong.
There are dentist who take a weekend course and go home thinking they can place implants now and end up shattering the jaw of a patient or hitting a nerve and causing the face to become numb. Seriously I know such of such a dentist. He doesn't place implants anymore. Not so good for the patients he did this too.
For me my Prosthodontist (dental specialist in replacement of missing teeth) places implants primarily in his practice not a side thing. Therefore he is beyond skilled. He has been placing them for 25 years and knows what he is doing. He doesn't take chances. He makes sure people have a CT scan that pinpoints exactly where the nerves are. Then a computer creates a model for a mold to be made to place implants exactly where the best bone is and no nerves. He places the mold in the mouth and places the implants correctly. He is also a stickler for total absence of any germs of any kind that can cause implants to fail. He uses PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma. Which is your own blood plasma that is mixed with the implant to create a barrier from germs and this is proven to accelerate healing and you can't reject your own blood.
I have 8 implants on top and 6 on the bottom and each and every implant is perfect. (see my smile in my picture?)
Cheap implants do not exist if you want success.

When a single tooth is lost, other teeth surrounding it may begin to shift, resulting in an unsightly appearance. In the past, bridges were the preferred method of cosmetic restoration, but surrounding teeth had to be damaged in order to support the prosthesis. As an alternative, many patients seek dental implants as a means of improving cosmetic appearance following the loss of a tooth. A dental implant has the look, feel and function of a natural tooth, and it’s positioning within the bone where the prior tooth was once rooted prevents other teeth from shifting out of place. The result is a visually appealing smile the wearer can be proud of.
In some cases, all of a patient’s teeth need to be replaced due to decay or other oral health complications. The teeth are vital to communication and digestion, so replacement is no longer a matter of cosmetic preference – but necessity. Options for full mouth restoration are limited to dentures or dental implants. More and more patients are choosing implants over dentures, as they provide a permanent solution that requires less maintenance and also preserves more of the natural maxillofacial bones surrounding the teeth.

For implants that are safe and less expensive, I'd advise going to a dental school to have them completed. Dental schools usually charge less per implant than practicing specialists on the outside. The only thing is, what you don't pay in money, you pay in time. Reason being, its a SCHOOL, so implants wil be placed by current residents. A learning institution takes time to educate its residents, so the patients receive a reduced fee for their extended treatment time. Look up dental schools near your area, and contact them to see if they do implants. The specialty programs that typically place implants are the oral surgery, prosthodontic, periodontic and advanced general dental programs.

Implant patients are of all ages and implants may be the right choice for anyone missing one or more teeth due to injury, disease or decay. What about a "discount dental implant center"? There are a number of those here in NYC and they quoting prices as low as $395 for the implant and anywhere from $1200 to $2000 complete with post, abutment and crown. I'm tempted, but I'm being warned by a friend who works in the dental industry to avoid these places because the quality of work and materials will be lousy. Is he right? Thoughts? Thanks.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

I don't think it is a wise choice to try to save a few dollars when it comes to dental implants. This is major surgery and risks involved. It is like trying to save on your gastric bypass. You would not believe the people that have had botched up jobs and now are paying by having horrible health and almost dying in some cases because they wanted to save a little money. You do get what you pay for. Want to be cheap and risk it go right ahead, but if it goes wrong you have no one to blame, but yourself.
