Catera is actually a OPEL from Germany NorthStar engine will not even come close to fitting in the engine bay is to narrow. Now there is a sloution the 400 hp LS-2 Corvette engine found in the GTO with six speed or automatic should be a lot easier to fit in.

Good luck with that, The catera has a V6, northstar engines are V8, I doubt you have enough room in the engine compartment for a V8. If I needed a more powerful engine in a catera, I would modify the existing engine to get the horse power a northstar has. But, hey, Why not? I don't know if any one has ever squeezed a northstar into a catera but you might find something on the web about someone who did, like he said a catera is a badge engineered Opel Omega, so you might find some info under Omega, which I think is also made by Vauxhall and Holden.
