my bf is middle eastern and i really really like him but everyone, before seeing him(cuz hes really hot), always goes like, "hes middle eastern? uhh...i wouldnt go out with him if i were you."
why is everyone so racist and stereotypical?

People are racist and stereotypical because they are ignorant and immature. It is not wrong to date someone from the middle east. If he's good to you, then that's all that matters.

dear middle eastern bf writer- well i can tell u racism is not the the real issue u no we r not supposed to be racist in america thats not good but people will be racist and it is difficult for u so u have to accept that if u want him to be ur bf. i went out with m.e. guys and african guys and got heat for it too. but the real problem is the opposite culture and possible religion. most of those guys think u could possibly be inferior to them they even think sometimes they r the boss. forget it. and they can be big big players i was in fashion in modeling and both of those guys were not good looking but they all cheated. they play with u and dont marry u if they r muslim. plus they thought i was bad if i drank or had sex with them too soon . dont dont do that. even if they do its ok if u do no way. but i didnt do that and didnt smoke was family minded and they really liked that. soo those r some other thinks to worry about which r tough. so be aware. if he says no dont listen i know the truth. have fun if he is not the one find an american nice guy if thats possible. good luck. dot

Yes, it's okay. People are just scared. Try to forgive them too. You have to understand that 9/11 and all the terrorism going on now is far worse than anything else that ever happened in our country. I think it's sad too but.....I don't distrust mideastern people just because of their race - or religion -- the Muslim religion is not a terrorist religion (anymore than the Bible can turn radical Christians into killers).....does this make sense? People are not trying to learn and yes, they are stereotyping.....nothing you can do about that.

No, it's not wrong at all. People will always be stereotypical and judgemental, that's a fact of life. You just need to show these people why you like him and that he's a good person.

why? because they are idiots. There is more danger in dating an american, more of them have guns and lots of them are religious nuts, praise Jesus.
