Well let me pull my file, My puppy got 1) distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo (DHPP) 2) Deworming 3) Bordatella and 4) Rabies.

The rabies shot was completed after his four month mark, the others were done with a shot, and then a booster shot, before he was three months. You should take him/her in as soon as you can.

No vaccinations under 8 weeks of age.
8 weeks distemper/parvo/adenovirus-2
12 weeks repeat
16 weeks repeat for third and final vaccination until a year from then
20 weeks or older rabies

Unless your puppy is at high risk of exposure he will not need lepto, parainfluenza, kennel cough (bordatella) or lymes.

NO puppy/dog should EVER receive coronavirus, adenovirus-1, giardia vaccinations.

The above is the current protocol of the AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools.

Take it to the vet. He will need a series of three puppy shots then a rabies shot. He needs an exam anyways if he was just dropped off. You never know what problems he might have.

The puppy is still very young. You need to check with your local vet to find out what it needs and at what age. They will be able to tell you and give you the costs involved, that way you can be a little bit more prepared.

It needs shots for:
Canine Parvo Virus (CPV) ( a contagious disease among dogs, primarily puppies)
Distemper
Bordatella
Kennel cough
Corona Virus (It protects puppies' eyes from very contagious eye disease)
Rabies
and Lyme disease if you live in a heavily wooded area with lots of ticks.
It also need to be checked for intestinal worms (very common in puppies - sorry) and heartworm. Your vet should prescribe a regular heartworm medication, again if you live in a heavily wooded area with lots of mosquitos.

Have fun and good luck. Be prepared to get puppy fixed at 6 mos. to avoid vistations from strange dogs in the middle of the night if it's a girl, or to prevent it from roaming or escaping regularly if it's a boy.
