Depends... if you got a blank room with no flooring or basebaords, then do the floor first. If the baseboards are already up then you can always cut the laminate.

No, baseboard first. Check manufacturers directions on the space to leave between laminate and baseboard. Then install shoe molding(quarter round) to hold it down, the floor "floats". With the shoe nailed to your base, it will cover the space left.

How do you know how thick the laminate is going to be with the substrate padding and the base board covers your mistakes. Base board preferrably new and painted or stained to match the flooring gos on last.

it does not matter.............
if base board is already down what you do is use quarter round molding to cover up the cuts......I would not take off baseboard.......
if baseboard is already off, put laminate down first then cover with baseboard........
only thing is to allow expansion gap and measure the width of your baseboard so you do not allow to much...........

That is the only way to get a professional look.I remove the casing also off the doors.Nothing looks worse then hacked up casing where it meets the new flooring.

No. You just don't want it so tight that the laminate couldn't expand and contract and slide under the trim.
