my sister gained her citizenship through the US military. i actually tried to do the same, but i got a medical discharge right after bootcamp. i cannot re-enlist, and even if i could, i wouldnt.

It depends where your district office is. You can go to the link below, select your local office and get a rough idea from the date they are processing now for form N-400.

If you have been a green card holder of US for past 9 years, you can fill out the Form N-400 Application for Naturalization with fees and supporting documents. After that you will get notice for the Biometrics (finger printing) and Interview. At the interview you need to pass English efficiency test and American Civics, History and Government tests. At the interview you will informed whether you are approved or denied your citizenship. After that you will get a notice to Take an Oath at the cerement which concludes the whole process. It usually takes about 6 months to 1 years depends on where you file based on you reside.
Check the USCIS site for the requirements and process.
Good luck!!!

If the father is an American Citizen you can apply for Citizenship for your son that way (after hes born). If the Philippines have "birth Citizenship" then your son is automatically considerd a philippino, when he gets his US citizenship (not hard to get as you and your husband are Americans, it should be almost instant.), he will become a dual citizen. Very good to have!

after 9-11 I'm sure or hope they are more caution's .
in 1978 it took me a month to get my papers in the mail.
the wait to get a passport is 6 to 1 tr Now ,imagine citizen paper's .
don't procrastinate ,just start somewhere.
