They should stop their sinful behavior right away, and ask God to help them change. There are a lot of gay people that changed and started loving the opposite sex, of course with the help of God. Because if they truly accepted Jesus, they would WANT to change and not sin anymore. With fasting and praying and reading the Bible, this could be done.

I am a Christian and I still have Gay feelings. I have been a Christian for over 20 years.
One of the things that Jesus said was darkness likes to hide, as if you could hide from God. And you can't really hide from God. But darkness does that anyway. It's shame that drives people to do it. Like Adam trued to hide from God because Adam thought he was naked.
But being open with God about it is actually the thing to do. Gd knows what you are going though. He knows what I am going through, so He protects me.
And just because you might not be acting out any more
( that's what happened to me, it doesn't have to happen to anyone else), doesn't mean that you have to go after the opposite sex. God might not have anything like that planned for that particular person.
The point is: trust God. If there is something going on in your life that you can't understand, don't hide it from God! Tell Him about it. You can trust Him. It' when you think that you can hide it from Him that you get into trouble.

This is a question which has plagued me. In modern medicine, we are trying to isolate "gay genes". I pose this question to you: Would anyone CHOOSE to be gay? With all the mockery and social & moral prejudices, who in their right mind would just decide one day, I think I want to be gay? I don't think anyone would just choose to hurt their families and be outcast by their faith. That's why I think it's something that people just "are". Something, whether it's genetics, childhood experiences, or some sort of hormonal or chemical imbalance, makes these people different from what is naturally accepted. And if the gay person is not at fault, they have not sinned. I think gays can have loving relationships and faithful lives just as anyone else can. I would not want my child to be gay, but not because I think he would not go to heaven. It's because of the hardship he would face in our society. As long as they are monogamous, and have a commitment to God first, I believe their sins can be forgiven just as anyone else's. The Church claims homosexuality is a sin. But what about the guy who looks at porn all day, the woman who strips for a living, or the couple who "swings"? All these are sins of perversion, but who's to say these people can't still live a good life and don't merit a place in heaven? Jesus is the only person without sin, so God knows we all have sin in our hearts. Just because you have "accepted Jesus" doesn't mean you will have no more sin. We are imperfect, but as God said after our creation, we are good. Imperfect, but good. A gay person may be imperfect, but I believe he can still be good in God's eyes.

Jesus said to forgive your brother seven times seventy.
This person may have been forgiven, and with true forgiveness comes deliverance. Yet, what happens is the devil will still bring temptation to this person. The person must rebuke the devil and his temptations, whether it is homosexuality or lying.
The Lord will not allow a temptation to come upon us that we cannot overcome by faith. And that is very important to remember, and easy to forget.
So we must as believers learn to rebuke the devil and his lies. For they only bring death.
As for the person who was gay and was delivered, tell him or her to seek God first. God will lead to all truth. If this person has difficulty when it comes to controlling urges for sex, then God will indeed bring his soulmate to him or her. And it will be the opposite sex.
The important point is to let the Lord lead and not try to lead the Lord. So many try to lead the Holy Spirit instead of being patient and letting the Holy Spirit lead them. This often times causes problems with one's faith.
For instance, I was at a rivival where a man attempted to stop it from raining. He spoke the words in Jesus name commanding the rains to cease, but it didn't occur. The reason being is he was zealous and unlearned in the ways of the Lord. He led the spirit instead of listening to what the Holy Spirit was telling him.
So many fall on their faces this way and the result is because of ignorance of God's Word.

Although sin is natural for unbelievers, that doesn’t mean God wants them to remain that way. God can set them free from their sinful nature (Romans 7:23–8:2), give them new desires (Ephesians 4:22–24), and help them withstand temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13). See 1 Corinthians 6:9– 1

2 Cor.6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." 18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
Any sin is that a person has found themselves a "slave" to can be VERY difficult to overcome. so what you have to ask yourself, is; "what is MORE important to you? A moment's passing pleasure, and an eternity spent away from all things that belong to God (ie: happiness, health, joy inexpressible, no more sorrow, death, sickness...etc.) or a difficult struggle in this life, and yes, maybe the loss temporaily of happiness, for Joy eternal to be with God, and have more than you can possible imagine?!"
A person has the right & free will to decide what is important in this life, and where they want to spend eternity, based on the decisions that they make in THIS lifetime.
Mt 5:30 - And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Mt 18:8 - If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.
Ps 30:5 - For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
Mt 6:33 - But seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Meaning do not be so concerned about any kind human "relationship" just stay focused on your relationship to God alone!

When you become in Christ you die to sin and become alive to righteousness.
They will still "struggle" with their feelings but as God renews them each day and makes them more and more like his Son and they live more and more according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh they will no longer have feelings for a sinful lifestyle.
*Here comes the thumbs down! LoL*
***UPDATE***
Case in point. I used to have an addiction to pornography. When I became a Christian this addiction did not go away nor did my desire to lust go away. Yet as I became more and more conformed into the likeness of God's son and lived more and more by the spirit then the flesh then the desire to do such faded because I have a greater desire to do God's will and not my own and that what truly makes me happy that is my true love!

We all deal with feelings that we don't necessarily desire to deal with. Some people who are trying to quit smoking are tempted to smoke every now and then and they have to resist that desire. Those who battle with homosexuality don't like having those feelings so to assume that they won't be happy if they don't act out on those feelings is to assume something about them that they themselves will say isn't true. These people are big enough to know what they can and cannot do. They're not mentally challenged.

"The first thing God told Adam and Eve was to be fruitful and multiply. You cannot do this if you are gay or lesbian. This is the abominiation - not the person itself. That is one of God's precepts".
Jesus and his apostles lived lives of celibacy and did not act to "be fruitful and multiply". You cannot do this if you are celibate. Is this an abomination?

You are expected to turn from all your sins, just as the rest of us have to do. A fat person should stop overeating and get their weight right,,so they have to give up junk food....a liar has to watch their words and not lie any more...a person who has been having sex and is not married,,,,must stop that and wait for marriage.......and so on...we all have things we have to stop doing or give up...why should you be any different.
.You think only your sin is hard to stop..ask the millions of alcoholics who quit drinking when they got saved,,,how easy it was.....stop whining about it and give it up.....if you can't in time, learn to love a woman, then stay single..there are a lot of single people in church....you won't be the only one...
Get real about God and that will make you happy. Happiness is not found in someone else,,,it is in your relationships with others,,,,both men and women...I get tired of Homosexuals whining about how hard it is to give up their sin and if they are somehow more special in their sin...Sin is sin....deal with it.
