Excessively heating olive oil will evaporate the alcohols and esters which make up its delicate taste and fragrance. Heating olive oil will not change its health aspects, only the flavor. You can use a cheaper olive oil which doesn't have much flavor to begin with if you want to fry with it, add a more flavorful virgin olive oil after cooking or at the table.

I'm sure it would. Heating any food for long kills off most of the nutrients (which is why steamed veggies are healthier than boiled).

You can add some to cooking but I always add mine at the very end so it still retains it's flavour. It doesn't keep it's taste if you cook it in the food if you know what I mean.

Peanut oil will burn too. Same with Sesame seed oil. You are only supposed to add them as flavouring at the end. Do the same with Olive Oil.

Oil is usually good up to about 350 f, aka frying temp. After about 30 min at that temp I would say it is no good. It really depends on what you are using it for. When oil heats up, the molecules get damaged and the oil is more apt to turn rancid from absorbing the food particles fried in it. After frying, run the oil through a coffee filter before storing it again.

You have to think of of it like a vegetable, whilst you still get benefits from it, even if it's been cooked, it'll be better if you eat it raw.

Also the fact that olive oil is unsaturated fat does not change, makes meals healthier than if they were cooked in saturated fats.

As long as you don't burn it, it retains its nutritional benefits. The benefit of olive oil isn't related to vitamins (which can get destroyed by heat), it's related to the types of fat. Those don't get destroyed by moderate temperature cooking.

No!! I'm not a chef,,,,,, I love to cook...... Olive oil starts alot of my recipes. Clearly, it's being cooked from the start, adding a slightly different flavor along the way!.............

heating it is fine as long as you don't over heat it. I use it in my pans for everything from browning hamburger to stirfry. you can also gently warm it and use it on your skin

use grapeseed oil, or coconut oil. Those do not burn as easily.
