if your child was taken away from you when they were younger and you couldnt see them until they were older and they didnt believe you were their parent, would you send them somewhere and set them up in flames? I mean isnt that a bit extreme? (I think you know what Im really talking about)

Great point.

And of course, in your analogy, you can do a DNA test to prove that the child is yours. God doesn't even give us any proof. What a meanie.

It depends how old they are. If above 18 then I would let them rent another apartment. If they are smaller than 11 than I would just take them in and act like the a parent to them. Like punishing them, giving them treats, going on vacation. Just as if you never were separated.

No, but what if I followed them and begged them to come back and they refused? What if I sent other family members to them and had them beg on my behalf for my child to come back ... and they didn't?

Would you have me drag the child back? Would you have me put the kid in chains and force them to love me?

What if they walked off a cliff on their own, and no matter what I said they refused to listen?

You need to remember that God is not like us. This is His creation, His rules, His Moral Law that is inserted to our souls. God has human partners to tell about His love and wonderful offer. He protects children until they know what they are doing.

Set THEM on fire? I'd probably go after the mother first for claiming to still be a virgin.
