Should it be pronounced how it looks or pronounced like "everybuddy"?

I guess while we're at it, what area in the US is standard american english most prevalent and what determines it?

The most common pronouncation is three syllables. "Ev-ry-buddy".

There is no standard British pronunciation. It depends where you come from in Britain. Get everyone in Britain to agree on British pronunciation (that'll cause a few fights) and then ask why the Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans and all other English speakers have a different accent. It's just the way the world is - natural evolution.

EVERYBODY. There are so many words that are pronounced incorrectly by Americans I wonder about the English teachers, here's a classic " INTERESTING" Americans pronounce it "INNERESTING" Edit.......Accents have nothing to do with the correct pronunciation of a word.Edit .What the heck is American English?

It'll be pronounced differently depending on the accent. I'm from the North (US) and I find I pronounce it more like the way its spelled than most in the south.
