If you have ADD it can calm you down...since it's a stimulant, people do better getting MORE stimulants. It's like in math, a negative plus a negative = a positive. It's like taking ritilin (sp?)...it's stimulant...it doesn't make sense, but that is how it can work. Good luck with your other answers, but this is the best I can do. I hope I've at least shed some light into your question.

If you are hyperactive, not just having a hyper moment, coffee has caffeine which calms you through the brain. (I am not a doctor, I know it works. I watched it work on my brother for years.) (He didn't take any medications so about 2 ounces of coffee did it. His teachers at school would give him coffee when they were teaching something new.)

It definitely makes you more hyper. Also, be careful combining it with certain meds. It can make your heart race!

For the average person caffeine perks you up.........However, I knew someone who was really addicted to it and they had to have a cup to "go to sleep"!!
So, if you're not badly addicted, the answer is no!......BUT, there are some exceptions.
