Sorry, but not wanting kids to break the law and get hurt doesn't fit my definition of "strict". They are just being good parents. They also have a reason to be concerned about their liability, since you are under age and their insurance wouldn't cover any damages/injuries if you had an accident.
I know you are anxious to start driving, but the traffic laws are there for a reason, and so are the high insurance rates for teen drivers---they have more accidents, because they lack maturity and experience.
You need to be ready to accept whatever punishment they give you and profusely apologize because you realize that what you did was wrong and dangerous, and promise (and mean it) that you won't do it again.
Then you will have to earn back their trust by going above and beyond to prove that you are being honest and obedient. Get some practice "driving" in any legal ways that are available to you. If your family has a lawn tractor or riding mower, offer to mow the lawn, and make sure you do a good job. Don't wreck it or run over any plants or trees. Is there a go-kart track near you, or do you have access (legal) to ATV's? Even a racing simulation game at an arcade will give you practice in driving skills.
Also in the meantime, you can start studying for the driver's test. Get the book from the driver's license office, access information on the web, or see what information is available for through local insurance offices (or major carriers online.) That way you will have a head start on knowing the traffic laws when it comes time for you to take driver's ed, and/or take the written test.
Don't be in such a hurry to grow up--it will come soon enough! A few years down the road, when car notes and insurance payments, and gas costs become such an endless hassle, you will have a hard time remembering what all the fuss was about!

The truth that you screwed up. And hope they werent as strict as my parents growing up. That would be a good spanking and grounded for maybe 1 month. They would have called the other parents and I wouldnt have been able to hang out with those friends for maybe 2 months. This would all be explained to the other parents as well. Nothing after school for 6 months, no games, no clubs, no athletics (had to quit the team I was on), no dances. It was straight home. No going to the mall. No movies. No TV. No video games. School. Homework. Read a book. No phone calls. If we had a computer that would have been the first to go.
Something like this only happend once with my parents. You only make that mistake once. The punishment isnt worth it. Everybody thought my parents werent strict. They just didnt know how bad they were. I only got in trouble once like that. Never happend again.
Good Luck.

By driving without your permit or license, you broke not only your parent's rules, but state law. You put yourself, your friends, and every pedestrian and driver on the road at risk.
Be honest with your parents, and admit your mistake. Tell them you regret your poor decision, and suggest a reasonable punishment for yourself. Be a man and take responsibility for your actions.

Take your lumps.
You were breaking the law and ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
Had YOU been in an accident regardless of whose was at fault for it, you STILL would have come out on the bottom because YOU werent supposed to be driving and guess who would have to pay?
Your parents who wrok to support you.
Now ,take them lumps.

You better come clean. I also hope you realize that if you are caught with this driver who is not supposed to be driving and you are in the car -- you can get in trouble with the law too..........

Sounds like your in deep poo poo. If you don't have a driver's license you should be driving, what if something was to happen to you or your friends, your parents would have been responsible. (Not cool)

Ooh hun.
Sometimes its better to just face the music, no matter what you tell them you still were in the car, sooo.
you'll be punished either way.
I think its better to just sit their nod your head.
and go to your room when they are done talking to you.
if you sit their and take it they might go a little bit easier on you.
and throw in a sorry :[

well, it would be better if you told them
(if you tell them instead of mom telling dad, it should be better. so tell them, and say sorry)
tell your mom first tho, that would be the best thing to do, tell mom, then dad (even tho she saw you (not seen)) maybe it could be you two little secret, hopefully.

oh that would suck.
tell them how sorry you are.
then tell them you would do anything to repay them(like take away phone and computer for 6 months- a year.
it will be hard to give up but it will most likely be better then what they are thinking about doing to you!!!!

goodluck.
