My BF and I broke up b/c we are wanting two different things from a relationship right now. I (28 yo) would like to find someone to go the distance with and he isn't ready to find someone to do that with yet. He says he still loves me, misses me, but needs time to get his act together in order to be the man that I need. Which is true, but how can a man take such a chance to lose someone he claims to love so much? The only answer I have is that he doesn't love me as much as he thinks he does as I wouldn't want to just watch my loved one walk away.

He is trying to be honest with you. there are still things he needs to do and grow and experience before he feels he is ready to settle down.

Does he realize he may loose you? yes. Definatly. Any one who is still on that self realization journey realizes that every time you walk away from someone.. they may not be there when you come back.

But.. isn't it better than getting married now and finding out that he he was cheating on you? I think its far better to let him go now.. and hope that he will be back.. than to cage him and ruin everything you had.

Because he doesnt love you the way you want him too.He loves you but you CAN be replaced.I am sure if he is at all desireable there are a hundred million other girls ready to drop their panties for him and when a guy gets sex without marriage and all those other girls wanting a chance, why marry then?
There are also a million other guys who would probably be interested in marriage with you, forget this guy and find a man who wants marriage not just sex.

You can walk away from your loved one. The old saying that if you love someone then let them go and if they come back then it was meant to be is so true. I recently moved out of state and away from someone whom I love dearly. I had to get myself together and felt that leaving was the only logical answer. If she comes where I'm at then I know it was meant for us to be together if not then I have to move on.
