They are shown in the link below. Just click to read through a long list of rules which i find sad and ridiculous. I mean, it doesn't sound like u are even allowed to live life freely like that. And not attend college? What are they implying? Do they not want their children to further their education in a hobby or skill they love and will be happy with for the rest of their life?

I don't think anyone could be happy if you have to abide by so much.

I commend the JWS for there preaching work, but there teaching are wrong, if you do research on them you will find a history of false prophecies and how they later change the bible to fit there doctrines they teach. They are nice poeple, but that is about it, when it comes to the bible and what it teaches.

Having had some experience with Jehovah Witness beliefs, I read through the list on that website and not knowing all the rules, I can say that most of them are true.
Once again though, we must not judge. If we do we are just like those that do judge. We may not go along with the beliefs of others, but the people in these churches have chosen to be there. They want to J.W.'s and are happy believing what they want to believe. The only time I feel there should be outside interference, is when a child's life is in danger because blood transfusion is denyed. That soon will also not be an issue in a few years because there has been a new discovery of artificial blood made out of plants. In the first stages but it like it is really working.

Back to the J,W.'s. Compassione, forgiveness, non-judgement, understanding and allowing others to make choices just as we do, will do wonders for this civilation.
If we don't agree with the J.W.'s lets look to ourselves and whatever we believe in. Are we the best that we can be. Be a more positive example of love and forgiveness and maybe some/day one J.W. will see "the light".

It's easy to see your compassion in the wording of your question and it's so heart warming to experience here on R&S. Many Jehovah's Witnesses high school graduates prefer to learn technical skills rather than get a college degree. This is because the accent of their motivation is in carying out their ministry work. Regarding their beliefs as stated on that list, some of them are true, but some are not. The same can be said about the other items on the list. Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to love their neighbors as themselves so you with that in mind, might be able to see which things aren't true. You can even ask one of them when they come to your door. I'm sure you would find what they say interesting.

In answer to your question, the easiest answer is NO.

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. If this is the same list (sorry I don't go to random links, been getting allow of spyware) the "101 rules" list it is about 1/3 out and out lies, 1/2 half truths, and about 1/6 correct.

As for college. We are christians, our lives revolve around this fact. There is nothing wrong with having a good education, but when it becomes THE focal point of one's life to the exclusion of spiritual matters, then it is a problem.

I have several Witness friends who went to college, I personally haven't. Of those who went and didn't the amount of happiness we have doesn't seem contingent on the education we received.

What is the scriptural reasons for the 'yes' answers?

I remember reading about a church who couldn't find a Minister, cause their standards were to high.

One member of the committee, read a resume he had just received.

It went on to discribe the person as:

Spent time in prision.

Traveled alot, didn't stay in one place very long.

Had the tendency to make members of the church he was attending mad.

Had reputation of speaking his mind at all times.

etc.

----

After the other members vetoed such a man for their church, the man reading the resume, stated,

Signed by the apostle Paul.

Looking at comments without all the facts gets one in trouble.

Is someone who believes the bible going to tell me that:

Jehovah isn't God Almighty?

That Jesus isn't the only begotten Son of God?

That Jesus isn't going to destroy those who do not know God, or obey the good news?

That true christians shouldn't meet together?

That true christians shouldn't put God first in their lives?

That whole soul devotion can be shared with others?

.

It seems unlikely that many Jehovah's Witnesses will click on the link in this "question". When there is no opportunity to respond at that website, why would a person concern himself with what are almost certainly misrepresentations?

In general, various lists purporting to detail the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses are not intended to educate, but to titillate or irritate the reader. Past lists presented on Yahoo Answers have been about a third accurate, about a third intentional misinterpretations, and about a third false.

Some of those things located on the website is true, and some arent. Those who have a problem with most of whats stated on the website do not know their Bible at all.

If you want to know about the Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs, try ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses, because most of what apostates post are inaccurate.

unsilenced Lamb is an Apostate
and yes the list is compiled by an Apostate
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This list does Not speak too highly of Jehovah----Its ridiculous and it brings serious, serious reproach on Jehovah. And its not very becoming of the person who wrote this list and whoever keeps the list going and keeps asking about it.

Somebody in my family tried that on me and my brother with that list and which that backfired on them. And they also called us a cult. which is totally not true either

Most of these 101 are well known among JWs and former JWs here on Yahoo.
Silenced Lamb answered these accurately.
Even more interesting is a movement among JWs to block non JWs on Y!R&S.

Those "rules" were posted by what we call an apostate - a person who is spreading false things about our beliefs. If you would like to see what our official stand is - you can go to the official website at www.watchtower.org
