Yes, 4 years ago my husband and I were on our way to Idaho. We were in a 16' Uhaul. We pulled over so my husband could take off his sunglasses(they were clip-ons). Well the side of the road was soft because it had been raining all day and the U-haul started sinking into the mud!!!! We didn't know what to do. We tried to dig out a trench for the tired, but it didn't work. We thought we would be there forever cause it was a very slow road. Just our luck about half an hour later someone came around the cornor. They didn't have a phone for us to use so instead they went to the next house, which was a couple miles away and let them know what was going on. They called a friend of theirs who was a tow truck driver. It was after hours so he was off duty. The tow truck driver came and got us and our two kitties and the nice family who called him in the first plus let us stay at their house until the U-haul was out of the pit. Then afterwards we decided that we needed to find a cheap hotel cause we weren't going to make it to our destination. The tow truck driver was nice enough to go out of his way and show us the way to the next town and the cheapest hotel. If it wasn't for all those people we would have probably been there on the side of the road all night long. That is really awesome that the guy gave you the money to fix your car. What a great guy.

Absolutely! I was leaving a dinner once on my way to my part-time job over an hour away and blew a tire. Luckily 3 of them women I had eaten dinner with passed me on the highway and stopped to help. Suddenly a 4th car pulled up and an older gentleman got out and asked if he could change my tire for me. Still in his business suit from work, he quickly changed my tire and put the shredded one safely into my trunk while the 4 of us ladies stood back. I asked if I could help, but he declined and asked us all to step back from the road so we weren't hurt.

When he was finished I asked if I could have his name and phone number or address so that I could at least send a card or something to show my appreciation. He would only tell me his first name and said that he had 4 daughters and hoped that if one of them were ever stranded there would be someone kind enough to stop to help them. As it turns out he hadn't stopped for me at all. He was working in an office with a window that faced the highway and when he saw me swerve off the road he decided to leave work to come help me. I've never met anyone more selfless but I try to remember him whenever I see someone that needs help. I believe in paying it forward.

Yes.. one that stands out is about 10 years ago I was at IHOP trying to pay for my meal when I realized I only had checks and they don't take checks. A nice older couple offered to pay for my meal and I wrote them a check for the amount. A few weeks later I received the check back in the mail with a note saying they realized after they left that they didn't need the money and not to worry about it. Of course, it came with no return address on the envelope.

In my class room I give tickets to any student who does an act of random kindness. They save up the tickets and use them to buy little gifts. What has been kind of strange is most of the time these students will share the gift or give it away to another student. It can be small things like one of my 8th grades yesterday helped a 2nd grader by stopping what he was doing to show the 2nd grader how to make a basket in basketball. I am now seeing ARKs every day.

In the middle of a winter snowstorm, our car broke down on the Interstate. We were stuck with a broken fanbelt at a rest stop 30-some miles from the nearest town. Three drunk guys in a pickup truck drove my brother-in-law to that town (to get a fanbelt) and back! They refused an offer to pay for their gas or time. They were truly angels in disguise!

Yes. I an both a giver and a receiver on that point. A man stopped to help me when my van broke down in the middle of the road, and I have stopped to help other people on the side of the road. I have even driven them home.

I took my daughter to the doctor and didn't have enough money for the copay on her prescription. A man who was on his way out must have heard me say that to the pharmacist, because he slipped me the money I needed before he left. I'll never forget that.

By the way I love that movie. Don't you? :)

i once worked at a car wash. and i had just finished cleaning a guys car, worked my butt off to get it looking good. when i was done, the guy didn't give me a tip. another man (who was getting his done too, but by a different employee) noticed the guy stiffed me. he approached me and gave me a $5 tip. he said he was watching me clean the other mans car and that he didn't tip me,and apparently out of pity was kind enough to tip me for a job well done, even though it wasn't me who cleaned his car.i have to say...that was 'bout 10 years ago, and i never forgot it.

One morning me and my then 3 year old son were eating breakfast at Shoney's, we ate there often and knew the staff well, I was talking to one waitress and telling her how my husband had just arrived in Iraq to serve a year there. (he is in the military) And how about a week after he got there I found out I was pregnant with our second child. A man sitting near us over heard me talking and when he left he paid for our breakfast too. I never got to thank him, he slipped out the door before I knew he had done that. What a nice man. May God bless him!

Same thing happened to my husband last night a a pizza place. Him and his friend were there in uniform and the family in front of them was talking to him and thanking him for his service, then when my husband and his friend went to pay for their food they found out the man had already paid for both of theirs. He got to thank him for it though.
