Can't remember how often I've come to library on Fridays, but this seems abnormal_even if its normal! For the last half hour_and yes library will be closing at 6 pm, there have been herds of people coming in!!! It's just like ants when they find a piece of food!

Does this happen in your city or town?

Yes. I work in a Library, and at certain times of the day, people start pouring in the door.

Sometimes it's because we're holding an event that interests large groups of people.

Sometimes it's because the school 2 blocks away just let out, and the kids have no where else to go (i.e. the Library as a "safe haven")

Sometimes it's because the weather sucks.

And sometimes... it's because people realize the Library is a pretty cool place to be.

The library in my neighborhood closes at noon on Fridays. I'd be willing to brave a crowd at 6 PM, but I don't even have that choice.

Haven't seen anything like that I know of. But it probably does happen. It's hard to get your fingers on a keyboard then, especially when you really need a computer. Safest way to avoid that is to get a net connection at home. Beat the rush.
