Unless you are going to an airborne assignment - the chances of you getting jump school are very slim.

You should be able to volunteer for airborne. All you have to do is submitt a DA 4187 in AIT to get it. Unfortunetly, you will have a very hard time getting the school. If you get an assignment to Ft Benning or Ft Bragg, you will get offered to go to airborne school. Keep in mind that you may be stuck at replacement for a few months. That means you will not be able to go to your unit till airborne is completed. Just a word of caution for you though. I was medevac at Ft Bragg and picked quite a few soldiers off the DZ with injuries. Alot of airborne soldiers have problems with their knees and ankles because they slam into the ground. Couple that with the airborne attitude of running all the time for PT, severe injuries are not uncommon.

The chances are not very good. You had them over a barrel before you signed and took the oath, now they've got you. You can try once you're in, but realistically your best chance will be to wait until you are due to re-up, and make that a condition and a part of that contract. It has to be in writing, don't fall for the "We'll get that as soon as we've got the time" line either...

First, how outdated are you? needless to say, you're a married guy, meaning you may act extra mature. i'm asserting this, for the reason which you reported "could I celebration like a teenager". Now, particular you may so some stuff along with your friends. yet undergo in ideas, that only because of the fact your spouse is long previous, would not advise you may pass and do stuff, which you will not do if SHE replaced into not long previous.

You can still re-negotiate your contract since you haven't left yet. You should try to get RIP added on there too (Ranger Indoctrination Program). One thing to remember get it on your contract before you leave or everything is chance. He says chances are not high you can get airborne unless your unit wants you to go airborne.

You do your basic training and while you're in there you go to the orderly room and ask about going airborne. It's simpler that way. If you're fit enough and qualify, they'll take you.

If you do good in Basic/AIT, then you shouldn't have any problems, being that you are there, more than likely, they will allow you to attend prior to going to your first unit.

Plus, if you are Hooooah, then you can ask to go to Ranger school and get assigned to one of the Ranger Battalions. If that is your wish, it can happen.

Good Luck

My fiance begged me to let him do it! At the end of AIT or basic, they start bringing it up. You will get a chance. Once you're there talk to a sargent or a higher rank about it.

When you get to basic. You'll learn about the Chain of Command.
Here's your opportunity to use it. Don't go just asking anybody. There are procedures. you will learn what they are.
