i'm sure everyone is going to immediately say, "no." and that no human is powerful enough to mess up god's master plan. therefore hitler, bin laden, pol pot, or stalin also are not powerful enough to mess up god's plan...therefore all of the people that were murdered WAS part of god's master plan.

either god didn't see it coming (and individuals and maybe you and i ARE powerful enough to mess up god's master plan) or the mass murder of the innocents IS a part of gods plan.

which is better? incompetent god or evil god?

I went looking for your answer. Here are a few ideas, some good, some bad.

"In my opinion, God doesn't have any influence on whether good or bad things happen to good or bad people. Do you have any evidence that he decides, allows, makes bad things happen to good people or vice versa?
In my opinion, Jesus indicated that God did have an influence on things happening to good and bad people but he treated them both equally; quote: "for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends the rain on the just and the unjust". Matthew 5:45 I believe this would be one verse out of many in the bible that show evidence of God's influence but I imagine that would presuppose you believed in God.
Perhaps God does not exist and both bad and good things just happen." anonymous blog

How bout this gem? Can you believe these bozos actually came up with this? The part about babies is sick:

"Since "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), there is no one who has the right to freedom from God's wrath on the basis of his own innocence. As far as babies are concerned, and others who may be incompetent mentally to distinguish right and wrong, it is clear from both Scripture and universal experience that they are sinners by nature and thus will inevitably become sinners by choice as soon as they are able to do so. The world is now under God's Curse (Genesis 3:17) because of man's rebellion against God's Word. http://www.christiananswers.net/

An Atheist View, at this site
http://www.geocities.com/inquisitive79/vindicate.html

and a short excerpt: Often when arguing with a Christian that the Bible-God is ultimately responsible, and to blame, for "evil" (though evil is a theistic invention, I'll use it here) and suffering in the world, the desperate Christian will try to turn the blame on man. Free Will, says the Christian, allowed perfect man to fall from Grace. I must say . . . I disagree. I’m going to attempt to defend my position: providing the Judeo-Christian god is real and humans have free will, this does not rescue Yahweh from the onus of evil and corruption. I’ll attack the assertion that God is vindicated by the free will of man on two fronts: Yahweh could have, and should have, created a species of humans that would not have sinned; and that regardless of all other things, humans could not have possibly been created in a state that a “fall from Grace” was avoidable. Thus, the blame is Yahweh’s.

i wanted to think about this for a while, so that my answer would make sense to you.
in the history of the earth, many men, some with armies have marched to change God's plan. The killing of Jews which is prolific at times such as the second world war is just such an idea with spiritual implications.

As I was considering what you were asking, it occurred to me that you may not even know what God's plans are. It is not my place to teach you those things, for my only commission from God is to teach the Gospel, and make disciples of all that desire a better relationship with Christ.

the ultimate plan of God which I'm sure you are aware of, is to establish his kingdom under the direct rule of King David, (ya, the guy that killed the giant) who is under direct leadership of Christ himself. That is to say, David is on the throne in Jerusalem acting as it were like a governor.

Now at this point, the plan is to establish the anti-christ as the world leader for 7 years. Are you able to preach the gospel of Christ to so many that the anti-christ is not able to decieve the world.

In order to undo God's plan, you have to do the impossible, the un-human thing and serve God like no one but Christ has ever done.

the bible says, God catches the foolish man in his foolishness. Satan destroys and that is it. You want to alter God's plan, that is to destroy that. Yet in your human effort to do this, you promote God's plan.

is that not foolishness on your part to honestly think you are the commander and destiny of your future? You are a slave, and you are serving a spiritual master

you need to decide if it will the LORD who holds your life in his hand, or spiritual murder who only destroys everything to include you if you remain blind as you are now.

this was a funny question and I have to admit, answering someone who thinks they have a brain but do not see the obvious always poses a time to reflect on how to talk to someone so young as yourself

Edit, monday 15 oct, Jeff, I starred your question, as I'm hoping some of the people who are fans will look at this and give you an answer. If you see this, leave the question open, it is worthy of better answers than I offer, though my answer is my thoughts to your question. Thanks for asking it

God knows that his people would suffer, His very chosen people suffered under the hand of Hitler. His plan will go off without a hitch no matter what happens under Heaven, things of great evil occur because mankind is evil by nature. God allows such things to occur to demonstrate to the world that we need Him, though unfortunately no one heeds the call, said for His choosen few. Try as you might nothing can thwart His Divine Plan.

Evil is one of those fuzzy words that are hard to measure. Evil is subjective. Incompetence however is pretty measurable. I think I would prefer evil. Even if the results are terrible, at least we would know it was all deliberate.

GOD'S MASTER PLAN IS TO SAVE A MISERABLE
ONE SUCH AS YOURSELF FROM HIMSELF. MAN
WAS CREATED "GOOD", BUT EVE LISTENED TO
EVIL, AND LED ADAM TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.
THAT TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL,
THAT THEY CHOSE TO EAT OF, WAS WHEN MAN
FIRST WENT AGAINST GOD. ADAM & EVE HAD
ALREADY BEEN PARTAKERS OF GOOD, SO IT WAS
THE EVIL THAT THEY LISTENED TO THAT MADE THEM
FALL. SURE GOD KNEW WHAT WAS IN MAN, AND
THAT WE WOULD GO AGAINST HIM UNLESS HE KEPT
US FROM DOING SO. GOD DECIDED TO LET US FALL
TO EVIL AND LET US SEE, THAT IT IS NOT GOOD.

DID YOU KNOW THAT UP UNTIL THAT POINT MAN WAS
IN A PERFECT BODY WHICH NEVER GOT SICK, AND
WOULD NEVER DIE. WHY? BECAUSE GOD SAW TO IT.
MAN HAD THE ENTIRE GARDEN AND NOTHING BUT
PERFECTION. DID MAN APPRECIATE IT? NO, SATAN
GAVE THEM THE IDEA THAT THEY COULD BECOME
LIKE GOD. THAT IS WHAT THE SIN WAS. THAT IS
WHAT SATAN LIED TO THEM ABOUT. THEY WOULD
BE LIKE GOD AND KNOW GOOD AND EVIL. WHAT
THEY DIDN'T KNOW WAS THEY ALREADY KNEW GOOD.
KNOWING EVIL BROUGHT ABOUT THEIR DEATH, AND
ALL THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH EVIL.

THIS PLACE OF SIN AND DEATH, SHOULD SHOW US
HOW VERY EVIL WE ARE, AND HOW VERY MUCH WE
NEED THE GRACE OF OUR LORD. MAN WANTED A
TASTE OF EVIL, AND WE'VE GOT IT. GOD GAVE MAN
WHAT HE WANTED.

GOD HAS ALLOWED EVIL TO REIGN UNTIL HE SAYS IT
OVER. MAYBE WE WILL APPRECIATE THAT GARDEN
OF GOODNESS, NOW THAT WE'VE HAD OUR TASTE
OF EVIL. YOU THINK SO?

Ummm all those other people you mentioned were just crazy. That had nothing to do with a master plan, it had to do with them being ku ku.

God ALLOWS things to happen he does not plan for people to suffer. Suffering is a result of sin.
