I feel rather discouraged whenever i look at my minolta (that i've yet to use). I do not know what model it is, I don't know if it has a light meter and if it does where the battery is is a mystery. would anybody be able to help me? I've taken a picture of it..I dont have a whole lot of money to pay a photo shop to look it over...

If I had the picture of it I could help.

Most Minolta cameras have the model on the left front (looking at the lens). XG-1 or XD-11 or SRT-100, 101, 102, 200, 201, 202, XE-7, XG-7, XG-9, X-700, X-570. Some later models could have it on the right side (looking at the lens).

The battery is located on the bottom of the camera.

Yes, it is fine camera that takes exquisite photographs. Merely, remove the battery cover and replace the batteries. It has a great meter and exposes well.
Since I helped you, could you return the favor? I have a vespa scooter but I don't know where the key goes. I don't even know if it needs a key. I've taken a picture of it. I can't afford to take it to the shop.
