I MEAN apparently being gay is the persons choice. It also says that what we believe is our choice as well

Once again, the questioner starts with a false conditional premise. When you think of religious people, do you think "pro-choice"?

Your brain, it has a purpose. Just try it.

A lot of people believe we choose this way when we are still a spirit and outlining our life before we come to earth. I like that belief, I feel like I have more control over the conflicts in my life.

What if people that were gay or transgendered chose that life before being conceived or born. Just a thought. And a different view on your question.

Before I answer this question, I just want to say that I'm an Agnostic and am very non-religious.

Well, we obviously can't choose our biology. It comes from our parents; if we could choose what genes we have, all of us would be perfect.

I personally don't believe that anyone chooses to be gay. There's nothing wrong with being gay, but I'm just saying that it's not like people CHOOSE to be straight either. Homosexuality has been documented throughout history, so it's just as natural as heterosexuality.

I hope this answers your question.

Um, many religious people have a much different view of choice that what you are saying. For example, Calvinists believe God chooses who will believe in Jesus and who will go on in their unbelief. They also believe that God gave His law, not so we could choose to reject it without consequences, but so that we would know how to live good, happy, healthy, loving lives. Choice may be involved in a secondary way, but it is not necessarily the central issue. Loving and obeying God is the central issue. Part of obeying God is accepting without rebellion the determination of our gender. If there are internal forces in a person's mind driving them away from their natural (God-given) gender, this is frequently traceable to assorted kinds of gender alienation events that occurred during their youth, and is probably related to the substantially higher level of violence between gay couples than exists in heterosexual couples. Yes, I know, thumbs down. I welcome them.

Nevertheless, there is a factual history to the rising acceptance of homosexuality as normal that cannot be ignored without peril. In the early '70's, the American Psychiatric Association was intimidated by the gay lobby into abandoning the inclusion of homosexuality as a well-defined mental disorder. This was done on a purely political, not a scientific, basis. The fact is, homosexuality is a choice, but it is a bad choice that flows from a psyche in distress. Furthermore, many ex-gays are now coming forward and talking about the revolutionary freedom they have found, both in healing the inner wounds that led to their gender confusion, and in accepting their natural gender as a gift from their Creator, whose design for us is always more liberating than the cheap imitations of freedom that emerge from our sinful imaginations. Choose, yes, but choose well.

Unfortunately being male or female is not a choice. Unfortunately, its the males who have two type of sperm that choices what sex their children come out with. Males have the X and Y chromosomes and females just have the X chromosomes. I suppose God can direct these chromosomes in either direction. Who would really know. God will not tell us, would he?

What? Many people are choosing their sex. They think they are God. What is stopping them? The truth is a dog can dress, act, talk, etc like a chicken but that doesn't make him a chicken. And to the rest of us it is unnatural and uncomfortable and I just wish people would realize that.

How do you know that your gender was not a choice? Maybe you were up in heaven and an angel was standing there and you went up to him(before coming down to Earth) and he was like "boy or girl?" and you told him...and then you were born that?
